I think this one gives me the edge over Tiff, since she had to cancel her Vancouver show for her trip to Europe (not that it mattered, since I think it was pretty much the exact same setlist as her show in Seattle...god, I can't believe I actually remember this SH*T!)j
Anyway, this'll be my first forray into buying tix from someone on-line. I hope I don't end up getting screwed! We shall see!
Wow! That's a whole lotta U2! I'm jealous. I'm sure the ticket will work out; is it TicketFast? Whatever format, I don't think they'd try to cheat you if they charged you so little for the tickets.
For the next two tour legs, I'm gonna try to avoid reading anything about what U2 is playing. I really want to be surprised. Well, maybe just for the third leg.

Elphie, now you want to be surprised?! That's what I've been saying all along! Tsk.
And how many concerts did you say it was, Mabs? Twenty? Bono is not going to fall in love with you, no matter how many times you show up with your home-made 'F**k me, Bono!' placards.
I believe it's up to 4 now for Mabs.
Afraid that you've got competition in the plackard department, Ellie?

Who needs placards? Not I! Sexy lingerie and $5 tip to the stage door manager does it every time. (But don't tell Mabel...she puts so much work into those lovely signs, it'd break her heart.)
Ah, my mistake, I forgot you were an expert at seducing rock stars. How does that work with your restraining order, though?

You got it.
Okay, I'm off now. I'm heading to Richmond for the weekend early tomorrow morning and I still have to pack. Don't miss me too much, ladies!
Oh, I miss you already, Elphie! I'll be back to tend to Ellie's comments later!
Okay, a few things...Ellie, you're right. I think I might need a bigger sign. I can't believe Bono couldn't see mine from 310 in Boston! I think he needs some new specs!
The tix for NYCV are hard tix. He had 4 (two pairs together) and both pairs were spoken for, so I guess if they aren't legit, I'll have been screwed over w/ someone else! You wouldn't think someone on interference w/ hard tix, asking face would be less than reputable. I wish I could tell if tix are fake or not. I was reading a thread on interference about it. Something about making a little tear in the ticket, and if there's blue in the tear, they're real...and if you burn it and it turns black then they're real (not gonna try that one!) Someone else mentioned being able to bring them to a ticketmaster outlet and verifying their authenticity. Maybe I'll do that?? I'm sending a Money Order, so I'll have his address to track his ass down if they aren't legit!
Oh...I finally got around to watching the Coldplay Live Leak last night. So, basically, my friend must have either thought someone else was me, or she's got some sort of crazy ESP or something, because I only saw one or two little fraction of a second glimpses of us...one w/ my crazy long neck (towards the end). My mother always makes fun of me, because my neck tends to come off as extremely long in pix, etc. Then last year, my roommate was walking down stairs behind me and was like "wow, you've got a crazy long neck!" Fabulous! So you can see my neck come careening into the frame at one point! @_@ Anyway, yeah...I don't see how she possibly could have spotted me, but I guess she did. I never told her I was going (I haven't talked to her in months). Dunno?!?!?
Guess that's about it for now. Later, folks!
oh my goodness, it's lonely on the 3rd page of the board.
*bump*
I know, I was thinking of bumping it up earlier to ask if we should just let it die. We're certainly in a bit of a lull lately. This is what happens when Elphie goes and has a life for the weekend...shame on you!

Let it die? Tiff will be furious, Mabs! I'd hide if I were you.
And yeah, I didn't want to comment about that neck thing...I was wondering why Elphie was posing in photos with Jeff Goldblum and some random giraffe. But now I know it's you!
C'est moi and my mambo neck...gotta love it! I have a picture of me w/ some friends outside at Spamalot that's just plain freaky! *sigh* What can you do?!?
Ok...maybe not let it die...how about...go on hiatus until further notice. What the hell are we going to talk about until October? Elphie and you have sworn off setlists until Oct/Nov. It's getting a bit sad giving the thread a daily (on good days) pity bump. I know this is blasphamy, and Tiff's going to disown me, but...Dunno.
But I feel like I've only just got here! Crazy-talk, Mabel!
Although it makes sense to only post when you have something to say I suppose, but I thought that went without saying!
I know...I feel guilty for saying such a thing *slaps hand* I'm sure stuff to chat about the lads'll surface.
Have you seen any pix from the stadium shows? I was bored at work on Friday and watched in on the setlist party thread thing for Brussels and checked out some pix. It looks A-MA-ZING! Jez, you simply must finangle your way in! Do you think you'd be able to see the lights from your little bank outside the stadium? I guess people could see them from the street in Brussles and some guy was watching the screens and drove into a tree (not sure if it's true...someone who was listening to the radio in Brussels said that they reported that or something)
One of today's newspapers had a fairly large preview of the upcoming gig at 'Croker', with plenty of pictures. I really shouldn't have read it! I've just over two weeks to figure something out - I'm on a mission!
I don't know if I'd see the lights from the canal bank. I suppose I'd see the odd flash, but not much. Especially considering it's bright outside until 10pm! I really, really want to see this show...especially since I've played in Croke Park myself a good number of times at sports events, so I'm kinda attached to ol' place - so U2 and I are both old hands at stadium gigs!
Anyway, it's late here so I must be off. I hope this thread is still around when I get back!
Oh, it'll still be here, Jez. At least my comment roused you and Ellie back...maybe that's all the ol' thread needs. A little threat of abandonment every now and then (thanks for the initial bump, groupie!)
We've still got a couple weeks to scrape something up for you! I'll be on a mission at work. Periodic checking of the U2 sites...it's not like I've had much of anything to do anyway! Pity you aren't able to go to Manchester. I know it wouldn't have the sentimental quality Croke Park would, but tix for those gigs seem to be floating around like confetti!
Night, Jez!

Roused me back? I never went anywhere! Oooh, you're a brazen one, Miss Mabel.
Ooookay...twas a low blow, I'll admit. I think it would have been more apropos for Tiff, but alas, she really has been among the missing lately, so...*realizes tis just me who's the pathetic one who's always around*...I can't help it. I think we've already established that I have zilch to do at work but kick around online, and unless I ante up and shell out the $25 to go into NYC, there's even less to do around town here! I'm a sad, lonely girl, and I have no life. I think I may have reached a new low. Thanks for inadvertantly showing me this, Ellie!

Oh, no need to back away...I just wish I had something a bit more...oh, I don't know...substantial to do with my summer, so I didn't spend such an inordinate amount of time on-line. Bring on the carpal tunnel!
Broadway Legend Joined: 9/20/04
I know how you feel! At least your doing something! Unlike me. *nervous chuckle* But hey, I deserve a break over the summer, don't I? Don't I??
Oh, and Jezebel, good luck with the tickets! My advice is to stand in a shadowy crevice on the night of the show, and when some unsuspecting ticket-holder passes by - pounce! People with canes are easiest to wrestle, I find.

Hey, more power to ya El! I really shouldn't bitch, because I'm basically being paid to do what I'd probably be doing at home anyway most of the time: listening to music, and toodling around on-line. And hey, it gives me quite the motivation to spend a chunk of that "down time" looking for internships for the fall, because god knows I think I'd start scratching my eyes out if I was inserting data into spread sheets for more than three months!
Anyway, I'm off. Night Ellie.
Jezebel, keep us posted w/ the ticket situation. Hopefully you won't have to resort to knocking over the elderly and the infirmed.

'Night Mabel. And I'm trying to spend my time constructively, honest!
