"V" on ABC

Did I just see a promo for a new series called "V?" As in "visitors" from outer space? Is this a remake of a remake of the series that was based on the mini-series in the mid-80's? The one where they looked like humans and acted all nice, then turned into lizard people and tried to take over, and one of the girls had twins, including a normal blond baby and an alien baby that climbed out of the womb itself???

Yep, I remember. Cool, bizarre stuff. Yet somehow I don't understand that if the series failed once, why they'd spend all that SFX money on another one, now...
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had the practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." --Alice in Wonderland

Yes, it's a remake of that. I don't know why, either.

Cause the original was totally awesome. Awe. Some. Okay, the first movie was awesome, the second movie was good enough and the series was crap.

At one point, there was talk of a "V - Twenty Years Later.". It was going to disregard the second movie and focus more on what a world in which the earth was occupied by aliens was like.

I fear that the remake will be crap, but I thought the preview was decent so i'M going to give it a chance. For nostalgia, if nothing else.

I'm not sure why they're remaking it. That said, it stars Elizabeth Mitchell (aka Juliet from Lost), so I'll definitely be watching.

They are remaking it because V is awesome.

I'm not a huge sci fi person but I know I'll be watching this for Elizabeth Mitchell. Hopefully I'll end up enjoying it.

I'm a pretty decent Sci-Fi fan, but I can't imagine this will get the sort of ratings they want.

I saw that promo also and thought it in itself was awesome!

If they know whats good for them, they will give Jane Badler a call, the woman who played Diana. She was so deliciously evil. It will be hard to top her. She's still very sexy. Even though Im gay, I always though she was white hot.

This is the series premiere that I am most excited about.

The original V was awesome. Marc Singer. Nuff said.

I'm not familiar with the original, but the show has gotten good early reviews. And yes, I'll be seeing it because of the wonderful Elizabeth Mitchell.

Also, it will probably be influenced by the darker Battlestar Galactica re-imagining. In other words: awesome.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Remember when that lizard baby crawled out of Robin's vagina?

re: 'V' on ABC

I remember the promos reminding folks to tune in for "the birth of Robin's baby" and showing shots of Robin just screaming in horror as her baby is delivered. God, I was so hooked on V.

I had such a crush on Faye Grant who played "Juliet Parrish" on the original "V" so much so that when she went on to play "Lina Lamont" in the broadway production of "SINGIN' IN THE RAIN" I went to see it 4 times!

And let's not forget Robert "Freddy Krueger" Englund as Willie, the nice alien.

re: 'V' on ABC

I was obsessed with this show when I was a kid. There were a million different tie-in books (like "V- East Coast Crisis" and "V- The Pursuit of Diana") and I snapped up everyone I could get my hands on.

I always wished they hard marketed to V toys that Mike Donavon's son (Sean?) played with in the first movie.

That lizard baby made poor Robin eat a whole bunch of raw hamburger when she was pregnant.
