re: 'V' on ABC

I just watched it recently. I have both V and V: The Final Battle and The Complete Series on DVD.

re: 'V' on ABC

I was screaming like a little girl when I found out about it a few months ago. Loved this show SO much ... can't wait for the reimagined series. I wished out loud at one point that that this show deserved a proper re-imagining a la BSG. I got my wish!

OK ... maybe not "Got" yet as it might suck, but looking forward to it.

re: 'V' on ABC

I haven't watched the miniseries in a while.

I just found out that Kenneth Jonhson released a book called V: The Second Generation, which was essentially a novelization of the twenty years later sequel that never got made. I'm going to have to track down a copy.

re: 'V' on ABC

Watching it again you realize that it was cheesetastic and the used so many "devises" to move the story along.

There is one scene in the beginning that is nothing but pure exposition between Robin's parents when they have just returned from the welcome party at Eleanor's (Mike's [Marc Singer] mother) house where they are talking about the events of the night saying things like "Did you notice...." while playing simultaneous flashback scenes. In this conversation they commented on how cold the visitors hands were, how they never saw them eat any of the cooked or hot food, just a few of the raw vegetables and how the birds in the birdcages went crazy anytime one of the visitors passed by.

xxnewgirlxx, I was a Marc Singer fan too!

Tom1071, could you be a dear and either post or pm me with the 3 different barcodes of the V dvds you have? I would appreciate it!

If they are going to remake something, remake The Invaders.

re: 'V' on ABC

Ha! I loved when Robin was suddenly standing in a pool of green goo and someone said, "Oh God, her water broke!" I laughed my ass off. It was more like she got slimed. Then on the series, Elizabeth, the less lizard looking baby, went into that nasty cocoon and came out a teenager. She was in a cave surrounded by snakes. Oh man, I miss it.

OH Tom, the cheesiness is what makes it a classic.

Oh, Mike Donovan and your absurdly tight jeans...

Oh, god.. what was that guy's name? Kyle? He TOTALLY made me realize I wasn't like other boys when I was a kid.

re: 'V' on ABC

Mmmm, Jane Badler.

re: 'V' on ABC

Apparently V is science fiction for gay people.

re: 'V' on ABC

Jane Badler always was sporting cameltoes in those uniforms. I think everyone's pants were tight.

Does anyone remember when that boy killed his own grandmother on the show. That broke my heart.

Magdalene - They aren't in my possession right now. I loaned them out to a friend. Why do you need the bar code?

I ordered them from Amazon and I think they post the UPC codes there.

Kyle was Mike's son. Is that who you are talking about, Phyllis? I agree, V was science fiction for gay people. I was a little too young to understand my feelings at the time.

re: 'V' on ABC

I was reffering to the guy in the picture that was just posted (the guy who wasn't Marc Singer). I thought his name was Kyle and Mike's son was Sean? I could be wrong, but of course I will now have to research this.
#43

re: 'V' on ABC

Okay, got it. Sean was the name of Mike's son.

Kyle was on the series, played by Jeff Yahger. I remember once he was on an episode of Newhart and he took his shirt off and my young pubescent self thought I was going to die.

re: 'V' on ABC

You are right, Phyllis. Mike's son's name was Sean. I just can't place Kyle. Was Kyle the guy that sacrificed himself in The Final Battle when they raided the dam and stole the water back?
#45

re: 'V' on ABC

I don't think Kyle appeared until the weekly series. I want to say he got into a romance with Elizabeth (STAR CHILD) after she got all big but was only really three or whatever.

OMG, I just remembered when Elizabeth (STAR CHILD!) saved the world at the end of The Final Battle, and how she was all glittery.

re: 'V' on ABC

I just looked him up on imdb. He didn't appear until the series but I can't find a picture of him.

The only pic I see in this thread is the lizard baby.
