I'm not a nutjob Madonna wackadoo, but I can give the woman her due. She's sold over 200million albums worldwide, holds a Guinness record for most successful solo female touring act, has tied Elvis in the UK for top 10 albums. Whether she can sing or not doesn't seem to have diminished her success. What I respect about the woman is her refusal to shut up or vanish or apologize for being over 50 and a breathing, sexual, powerful woman.

No powerful women I have ever trusted would suddenly shut themselves up because they married macho prigs. In fact, they would never have married the macho prigs in the first place. In the second place, they wouldn't then try to remake themselves as proper British ladies of the countryside, FORMERLY breathing, sexual, powerful women NOW genteel childrens book authoresses.
Do you look into the personal lives of the musicians you do like? Have they all met up to your standards?

Namo... come on. The woman wrote those books for her children. As to the English Mistress, I think it was a text book case of a circle being forced into a square peg. She clearly wasn't happy in the situation and so she left him.
CAX, give up! Namo's too full of hatred of Madonna to bend in the slightest.
I'm not gonna deny that Madonna is in really good shape and her surgery is well done, but her arms totally give away her age.

"She clearly wasn't happy in the situation and so she left him."
Let's see, she was complaining about the marriage in '05 and divorced him in '08 after being married since 2000. You see how this doesn't exactly follow the quick and decisive strong woman profile? The fact that she dumped her gay male friends when she married the faux cockney is definitely not something a strong woman would do. And that's what her ex-friend Rupert Everett says she did at the time of the marriage to her man's man, Guy Richie. So let's retire the strong woman meme once and for all. She's just another silly girl who dumped all her friends over a guy. Happens every day. Absolutely nothing special about it.
I'm not retiring the strong woman meme.
Starting with the kid from Bay City Michigan to where she is today - strong woman.

Exactly, Jane. The woman is HUMAN, after all. She wouldn't be the first person to dump friends for a significant other. People do this ALL the time. Almost all of my bros have become more distant since marrying... it's a part of life.
I think more than likely what she faced was a tough choice... Be herself: strong willed, defiant, independent, selfish career advancing WOMAN who intimidated more men than she attracted, or compromise herself and get a chance at a "normal" life.
She probably stuck in her marriage because she wanted to keep her family together. You can't forget that. She had a son with G.R. then adopted a son with him. She did a lot to maintain stability for her kids... signs that she's a good mum.
She has said in interviews that she was often unhappy and her instinct many a time was to just bail, walk out of the marriage, but that wasn't how marriage is supposed to work. I think finally that headstrong, POWERFUL woman won out.
She walked, paid a hefty severance, and has learned her lesson about marriage and what she needs. I say more power to her for trying...
"What about her body, SNAFU?"
Jane her body looked plastic too. I don't find either women or men who over work their bodies attractive. Madonna's body doesn't look natural. Some years ago when Tina Turner was going on her LEGGS tour, I had a change to meet her. I was amazed at her shape for her age. She was hot and it didn't seem forced (other then those incredibly high stilettos). I kind of want to force feed Madonna some pie to round out some of those angles. That however is me and my esthetic.
"The fact that she dumped her gay male friends when she married the faux cockney is definitely not something a strong woman would do"
This argument makes me giggle, you are basing this argument on the fact her rather bonkers brother who needed cash wrote a book and said it in there so that makes it true?
"Let's see, she was complaining about the marriage in '05 and divorced him in '08 after being married since 2000. You see how this doesn't exactly follow the quick and decisive strong woman profile?"
So because she tried to make her marrige work that suddenly says that she is not s strong female....that's a little insulting to all women who have tried to hold their marrige together, espcially when kids are involved.
" And that's what her ex-friend Rupert Everett says she did at the time of the marriage to her man's man, Guy Richie"
I could be wrong here and if i am Namo then i apologise, but when he did an interview in the UK Press he said the reson they didnt talk for awhile (they do now) was more to do with bad decisions made over the film The Next Best Thing?
As for surgery
If you look at her face it does not look like she has had a lot of surgery done (as in in been spliced and diced open), it does look like however she enjoys a nice bit of botox, and why the hell not?
When plastic surgeons were asked to say if it looked like she had had work done they all said no, instead they commented on botox and some other experiemntal treatment done (I can't remember what it was but it was around the time of the oscars).
Her face has not changed, she has got older and things have shifted with with getting older (again pull out the botox) but she does not look like shes done anything outrageous.
As for her body, it looks in great shape now, i dont know how anyone can say it looks 'plastic' it just looks very toned (though the arms are a give away)
She is not the best Singer (like elton john isnt, Elivs wasnt, Jackson wasnt etc) her acting is erm....good in music videos, but what she is a great entertainer and good song writer as well as having staying power and keeping people talking about her. She has admited herself she is not the best singer but what she lacks in singing (though i think thats a lot better now since Evita) she makes up for with talent in many other avenues.
I have to say though that even as a huge Madonna fan that SNL Sketch was a horrid, it could have been such a great moment but the writer just looked like he had thrown that together in 2 seconds.
I do however think she looks far better than Lady Gaga, from behind and upfront.

I am sick of dealing with you songanddanceman, I read two paragraphs of your above post and that's it.
I know you'll probably claim you have a learning disability that in some magical way inserted a reference to her brother's tell-all in my post but I did not make a reference to him or his book. Maybe your brain will read it correctly this way: I dnt ido. As you could see if you actually read what you're responding to (which CLEARLY you did not) I was referring to what her former friend RUPERT EVERETT said. So go ahead and "giggle."
That's it. Keep jacking off over your thoughts about Madonna. Keep convincing yourself she matters at all anymore. I don't care what you say, since you respond to things I'm not even asserting. I don't care.
Oh, and I hope that tour venue you're so worried about closes. Bwahhahahahahahahaa.

Manchester, England, England, across the Atlantic Sea
They need ballet and opera!
And I believe that clod, called me a sod,
Well, tee-hee. Tee-hee.
Opera and Ballet for the Mancunian masses! They've seen Blood Brothers more than enough times. Give em some real culture. Some opera! It's like Madonna with more screeching in agony!
Namo you aree a cock
You have just wished over 300 people out of a job, you have to make things personal dont you, you are a pathetic human being who existence seems to be all about seeing how vile you can be, well Namo you are Vile.
Its fine though, because wwhilst your stuck talking.....others will be doing.

I'm starting an online petition to bring opera and ballet to Manchester where it belongs.
Oh Manchester, so much to answer for...
Do you think that your funny?
Ive had so many messages about you today, each one saying that i should not rise not to you because you just seem to a bitter and twisted guy, and their right.
Bitter and twisted is the only way to describe someone who wishes so many people out of work, so many people who work bloody hard in that venue from FOH staff to admin and back stage etc, its a massive theatre (one of the most popular in the country) so thats a lot of jobs.
You seem to lke to pick at people's weakness are passion and pull them apart from it, i guess it shows what kind of a person you are.

I believe that ballerinas and opera divas need to work too. I do not put musical theah-truh in a place of primacy above these more rarified artforms. I have said again and again that I am not a bitter person and if it makes me twisted not to care what you and your email friends think of me, thrn so be it. Twist & Shout, that's my motto.
Bring on the tutus and horned Viking helmets! And all the people they employ! And the fans who love them!
hahaha you dont think you are bitter?, dont make me laugh.
And do you know anything about Manchester, the Opera Scene, The Palace, The Deal, the Finacial implications etc?
No you don't
You are only bringing it up because you know im involved in the campaign, your opinion is as pointless as your existence.

Please tell you don't write the press releases.
Yes i do, as ive said time and time again though im dyslexic and have grown up with this and got through it. As with my script writing i have someone who spell checks and grammer checks everything for me as for some reason ive always had probems with putting words down and grammer, yet excell in many other areas.
The fact it's not stopped me from enjoying success as playwright i think is something i should be proud of, the fact that people like you bitter queens know this and continue to comment on it is something you guys should notbe proud of.
But like ive said, inernet bullying is all very easy and kinda pathetic
Now is there anything else Phyllis Rogers Stone or are you to busy licking Namo;s arse?

Gee, ya think? I hear somebody's making a Sherlock Holmes movie, you should totally try to be in it.
Then that makes you bitter and twisted you idiot.

Really? That's the only logical conclusion to you? Wielding absolutely no power on my end I poke fun at your campaign and that makes me "bitter and twisted"? That's so over the top it's practically, yes I'm gonna say it, OPERATIC! Bwahahahahahahaha.

Nope. That was it. And I don't why you are being so bitchy. I said please.
