Half the people I spoke with says it was her, and half says it wasn't. I didn't catch that segment -- was it really her?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Of course that was her. No one could be that sucky and not be her.

not only did she look amazing,...but she demonstrated how she can run circles around someone half her age (gaga) and looked absolutely stunning..and a killer body to boot.

She just made 51 look like 35 last night....and most 20 year old girls would kill for her body.

She made 51 look like a 35 year old robot.

Not really. I mean, would you want to use a 35 year old computer or watch a 35 year old tv set?

In exactly what way did Madonna "run circles around someone half her age (gaga)"? Honestly. How do you mean?

I think Graham Norton once called her body gristly.

I mean, she's certainly got a body that she clearly ... well, I mean it's toned and all, but I don't know many straight guys who say, hey, "I want a woman with the body of The Visible Man."

Why am I wasting my time? Madonna haters will not give an inch as far as crediting her with anything. I'm out.

Yes, the Jennifer North hair is the best look Madonna's had, hair-wise, in a long time.

It IS Jennifer North! Do you think that was Madonna's way of telegraphing where she stands on the whole Roman Polanski thing?

I am always amused by how many people hate on Madonna. She's done nothing to herself that other celebs haven't already done. What Madonna has accomplished in her 20 plus years in pop culture is nothing short of amazing. She has far more discipline that I do to keep her body in tip top condition. If she needs to nip and tuck to stay at the top of her game, let her be.

I rag on the people who praise her body as if Madonna's pop cultural role is to do whatever she can to feed her dysmorphia and their job, as her fans, is to validate it. "Yeah, she can't sing, she can't act, she can barely dance, but her body, wow, her body, you can't fault her body!!!" I mean, now people are praising her FROM THE NECK DOWN.

Good god. Give me a fat, sweaty singer who knows how to breathe and emote and hold a note or two over somebody who now is to be praised, by some, for her trunk and extremities, not including the hands which must be kept from view by any means necessary.

It's a shame Madonna didn't get any better at what it is she supposedly does. Otherwise those who think they are defending her, rather than simply objectifying her, for what she's done to her body would have something of substance to talk about.

Phyllis, the Jennifer North hairdo first surfaced for Madonna's "Tribute to Myself and also michael jackson" at the VMAs, pre-Polanski arrest.

"to feed her dysmorphia "

incorrect diagnosis, Sigmund.

"for what she's done to her body would have something of substance to talk about."

Correction - this should read "what she's done WITH her body."

I don't think she would continue to do what she does to herself if she had a clear vision of what her body looks like. Again, you seem to be awfully trusting of the fact that the work Madonna has had done by surgeons (I know, I know, EVERYBODY does it) ends at her face. What are you going to do if it gets revealed that she's been surgically altered all over her body? What will you have left to praise her for? I guess the old standby, "her surgery was done tastefully, she knew when to stop"?
