Besides JT, I haven't liked any of the musical guests in a long time. All the guy bands, minus One Direction, sound the same: folksy, pseudo blue grass. I don't care for it. Tonight's band was especially bad. The second song made me mute the TV. Except the drummer. He can stay.
(I admit, I only listen to female pop, so I'm not really the target audience. Kylie Minogue is my queen.)

I thought it was one of if not the best episode in years. Everyone was in top form and finally looking like they were all having fun with each other. Peter Drunklage is going to stay with me for some time. So much good stuff.

I thought her first appearance was much better. I love Melissa, but she keeps on playing the same goofball character. I loved last night's cold opening, but the monologue was weird. I loved the coach skit, but the rest, especially the Wheel of Fortune knock off, was bad. Melissa is hilarious, but she needs to branch out.

I want to see Sally Struthers play her mother in a movie.

Watching Melissa McCarthy's 'antics' made me miss Cheri Oteri.
i think she even wore some of her old wigs.

Kind of surprised there are no comments yet on last night's episode. I did not enjoy it as much as the past couple of episodes. The monologue just seemed to go on and on. The weather channel sketch seemed to be written by a 12 year old too. Not that funny.

The show took ten steps backwards last night. Really unfunny for the most part.

AFTER the opening?!
The opening was tedious and not one bit funny. I think Vince is a one note comic, and his 'speed talking' schtick is wearing thin.

SNL hasn't had an opening monologue that unfunny and self-indulgent since Jaimie Foxx hosted. What the hell is going on with this show?
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

Ian Rubbish & The Bizarros was great what with Steve jones and a reenactment of The Bill Grundy Show. Fred Arnisen reminded me of that twaht who used to post here who thought she liked Margaret Thatcher.

I'm glad it wasn't just me. I went to bed before it was over. Bored out of my head.

One of the weakest shows in memory -- that high-school prom sketch felt like a reject from some Alec Baldwin episode from the mid-90s.

Apparently not. She's coming back next month.

Affleck's joining the Five Timers' club. I wonder who, if any, will come back, since they were just there. John Goodman, maybe? He did just direct him.

Wiig spoofing Gloria Swanson and Sunset Blvd would be hysterical. Make that work.
