Bettyboy, I'm with you on this. Gaveston, whether these were willing, solicited, consented to by his texting partners would be the question that should be asked (and I"m not sure we know the answer clearly).
But that's not what the outcry seems to be about. It seems to me that the guy is being selectively excoriated by many pundits and people who enthusiastically greenlight the sexual indiscretions of politicians they deem more likable, or politically impressive, or, to many, physically attractive than Weiner.
There seems to be a highly inconsistent moral judgment going on here, as Bill Maher pointed out last night citing Chris Matthews adoration of Bill Clinton and John Kennedy and condemnation of Weiner.
(I say this as someone who is not supporting Weiner by the way, but my decision has nothing to do with his sexting).
