The trivia question though -- what were Rachel's "favorite" and "real" favorite? (I love that episode)

I agree with Best -- it's Wizard of Oz, though on any given day 1776, Princess Bride, Amadeus, West Side Story or Spaceballs might inch past it...

The Sound of Music is my favorite movie ever. I've seen it over a million times...and I'm not kidding about that.

Really? If you were 100 years old, you would have had to watch it 28 times a day every day to reach that mark. It's a 3 hour musical. I am guessing you are stretching the truth a teeny bit. re: What is Your Favorite Movie? And Then...What is Your REAL Favorite Mov

God, I am a bitch.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I guess I would have to say Hairspray the musical. I am not embarrassed to tell anyone it is either. I'm not even ashamed to admit that Xanadu holds a special place in my heart.

I tell people it's "The Silence of the Lambs".

It really is "The Silence of the Lambs". Or "Lost in Translation". Or "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". Or "The Incredibles." Or "Little Miss Sunshine". It varies with my mood. Right now I'm in a Lost in Translationey attitude.

What is it about younger generations that prevent them from admitting what they like? Whose acceptance are they trying to acquire? The "Friends" generation onward seem so phobic. Terms like "guilty pleasure" are embraced rather than rejected. I've never been ashamed of what or who I like. Nor do I have any guilt around it nor have any difficulty admitting it. I don't get the term "guilty pleasure", the Friends episode (which I admit I've never seen, as I hate that show), or this thread. The funniest thing about this thread, to me, is that many of the films that people are saying are their favorites, are worse than the ones they're embarrassed to mention.

I'm so glad you guys mentioned Heavyweights, it's one of the greatest comedies of all time.

"First we're going to take an hour meditation break. Then we're going to climb that 1000-foot rock face over there with our bare hands and feet. I know you can do it, I have faith in you. But for now, observe the silence of the chi."

My favorite movie is The Lord of the Rings, I could them all as one. Return of the King is the best, but they are all fantastic.
