Me too Tink. Monsoons don't help.
agreed. And for the last 15 minutes or so we have had some wicked thunder & lightening.
I kind of hope things will be cancelled. IMO, this is almost worse than snow.
I agree, but i doubt it will. And my new job is in a big flood zone.
Should I bother showering? Or just walk to the subway tomorrow?!
Getting ready to go to bed but wanted to check in first. I really enjoyed the production of The Who's Tommy today at U of M. The staging and choreography was very inventive and entertaining. I especially liked the guy who played the father. He was cute and I liked his voice. The character of "Tommy" sort of grew on me as the play progressed but I did not love him. It is always interesting to see who of these musical theater students have a successful career in the business. U of M has a great track record! I used to know quite a few of them when my daughter was in school there but not so much anymore. Andrew Keenan-Bolger was in this show and he played many parts as a member of the ensemble and was great. He looks so young. My last trip to NY I was on the plane with him and a mutual friend introduced us. Anyway I was glad that I went to see the show. The rest of the day was busy with family things. Tomorrow it is back to work and getting the taxes done! Not fun.....
I've been laid up with some sort of lower-back problem all day. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing? A friend told me it sounds like a muscle spasm. Moving is painful.
Sorry to hear that Miss P. I personally have not had that kind of back problems but I know people that have and it is usally something to do with spasms. You need a strong relaxant!! Hopefully a good nights rest will help.
Thanks, Baddy. It's never happened to me before either. Everyone I've talked to today--as well as everything I've read online--has said the same thing you did, so I feel I'm on the right track.
The Helen Hayes Awards are tomorrow night. I don't want to miss them!!!
But I do miss you!!!

Does the pain go down your legs or butt?
The pain is concentrated on either side of my lower spine and goes down my legs, but I really only feel it in my legs when sitting in a chair. When I stand up, it's like I'm numb from the waist down to my upper thighs. IT HURTS!!!!
Miss you too! By the way Leah and I finally watched that video, The Beales of Grey Gardens. It was excellent and Leah could not believe how spot on the characteration in the show Grey Gardens were. I know you have watched the documentary but I think you would also really like to see this as it has more singing in it and it shows Edie really flirting with the Mayles.(spelling?) Anyway we enjoyed it. Now I have to get the original documentary and watch it also.

Sorry to ask, but any bodily function issues?
Oh, I have THE BEALES OF GREY GARDENS and have watched it several times. I LOVE it! You can see where they took a lot of what the Edies said from the film and incorporated it into the musical. In many ways, it is more fascinating than the original doc.
LOL! No, Brd, no "bodily functions" issues...unless you consider "walking" a bodily function!!!!
Now, of course, Leah and I want to see Grey Gardens again. I hope to make it back to NY in July sometime. I also want to go flea market time again. Gee, I hope your back is better so you can go tomorrow night. I still don't know whether Brynn will be there. I keep forgetting to ask her mother. Well gotta go to bed now....tomorrow am will be here too soon! Goodnight
Baddy, whenever you're going, I'm going! I intend to see GG everytime I go to NYC if possible! We'll tawk. Goodnight!

So, the thighs and not the back of the legs?
Have you had any history of sciatica?
Broadway Legend Joined: 1/14/05
Hi GH! Back proplems can be disabling. I have transient pain, but nothing serious.
Yes the front and the back of the thighs hurt when I sit in a chair. I has sciatica once about 8 years ago. My dad had it, I remember. WHY? WHY? What does this all mean? You gotta give it to me straight, Docs!
I'd offer to help, but I got nothing.
I'm off to bed. I have a sinking fear I'll wake up floating to Connecticut.
You may have pinched a nerve.
What sort of pain? Dull, sharp...?
