The short bus was something that the 'special' students rode to school.

These folks are all 'special'.

What's with the bug eyed guy?

This actually made the news... they (the judges and Ryan Seacrest) aren't making any friends in town.

I've never been able to get into AI. I tried watching at a point last season, and I watched the final episode, but was bored. That and as soon as I like someone, they get booted!

brd - that's awesome you have tickets to the game Sunday and possible Super Bowl! I might be getting Ranger/Devils tickets for next month, but that's my extent of tickets. I NEED to see the Yankees this season. I haven't gone in like two years, possibly more.

Miss P - I'm sorry, I am sure it is lovely. I will find out in about 3 hours!

I'm the youngest on this thread (I think), and I know the short bus reference.

L - Your weather forecast for today....bitter cold again and windy, but a tad better then yesterday. Possible snow tonight, but nothing that will stick on streets.

Ok, I'm off, have a wonderful Thursday everyone!

Tink, Shira and LG are both younger than you, but not by much!

Skipping the gym today, have to run errands before work.

Happy Thurs all!

btw, we affectionately refer to my car as the short bus.

I'm the driver, so I don't care.

From Wikipedia:

A short bus is a school bus that is, as the name implies, shorter than a normal-sized bus; it is usually van-sized. Short buses can be used by smaller school districts on routes with few students to pick up. However, a more prominent use is to transport small numbers of children to and from vocational school, or schools for children with emotional disorders or mental disabilities.

The buses are the standard eight feet wide and average twenty-four feet in length. The buses are capable of carrying ten to twenty children, as opposed to the regular 77. Some have automated elevator lifts to safely lift wheelchair-using children into the bus without the use of stairs.

Because of this second use of the buses, "taking the short bus" or other phrases to that effect has become a pejorative slang term used to imply that someone has a mental retardation or emotional problems. Short buses themselves are also sometimes referred to in a derogatory manner as "retard carts," "syndrome trucks", "tard carts", "window lickers", "sped sleds", "sped-ex", "retard rockets", "the Magic School Bus", and "the Magic wagon".

That's not very nice.

Maybe I didn't know that because we younger kids are nicer and more accepting and tolerant of everyone as opposed to you old people....

I am seeing Spring Awakening tonight. Will be the first time since I got the CD and have been listening a ton, so now I will know the music much better. And actually have a full view of the stage (LOL Tink).

I have not heard anything from Greg Gardens except for the song at Broadway on Broadway. I have had no interest in seeing it, I will go sometime in the next few weeks to at least check it out.

I've made it back! 3 hours there, 4 1/2 hours of meetings, and 3 hours back.....oy! I like my boss's Mercedes but I don't want to see it again for awhile, lol! However, because we met with a candy manufacturer and a candy packaging manufacturer, I came home with a sh*t load of Godiva, Hersheys, caramels, salt water taffy, etc. i think I have enough choc. to last 5 months! I then went straight to leagues, where we won the championships, so we are one step closer to Vegas again!

L, haha, yeah talk about being put in the corner at SA! But for $25 a ticket in the busiest week of the year, what can ya do? I still don't know if I have a desire to go back and see it again!
