Thanksgiving day in Jersey.
Train to Washington DC for work.
Plane home on Saturday.

2 essays on personality due in one week...

SO VERY BUSY.

And only one of those papers is due to procrastination. College is hard.

Seriously.

I remeber I was in French class one day and we were discussing what we do outside of class (in English, we were goofing off), and this one kid goes "Shira, how can you work with kids? You've just said teh word f*ck at least 5 times in the last 2 minutes!".

I was just..."uh, I don't act like this when I'm with kids, DUH!"

Well, Shira, you are better than most of the adults I know who swear. I am VERY good at keeping adult language with the adults, but I know A LOT of people who aren't. And that's bad because my kids are mimicking everything we say now!

Thanks Miss P. I was just shocked that someone would say that because I curse like a sailor sometimes, that behavior is what I express to innocent and impressionable 9 year olds!

Not meaning to judge... but in our culture, people don't really watch what they say in front of kids. I've been hearing adults curse since I remember. It was just something the adults did... like smoke and drink. And as children, we were not allowed to do it. Sheesh... the first time I cursed in front of mom I was in my late teens. And you all know that the 'F' word is standard in my vocabulary. (in spanish it's the P word...)
