Boobs! I haven't seen you in ages!! When will we see our show??
MT, how often do you get into the city to see shows?
liotte....we'll have to plan something after the holidays. I still haven't seen Grey Gardens..hint..hint.
I am going to see Grey Gardens again when I'm in town. Wanna go with me, Boobs? At this point, I'm "dating myself," as Liotte would say.
Nor have I!
I also need to see Company, and I would like to revisit High Fidelity and Spring Awakening, both of which I enjoyed in the past couple weeks.
But the next month will be a lot of a certain show I shall not name, for fear of DAME yelling at me. But it closes in 30 days, so need to overdose!!!
Well, I got to see two so far this year (ILY,YP,NC & The Grinch), and I have tickets to see Forbidden Broadway in a few weeks. That will probably be it for this year. I have been promised that I can book 2 - 4 shows in the next couple of weeks for 2007 (hubby to be just got a new job and a big pay bump. I have put in a formal request for a yearly broadway expense account now, lol). The problem is, I need to find other people to go with. He will be nice and sit through some shows, but others I want to see he will not enjoy. But hey, he actually went with me to see an Adam Pascal concert, so I try not to be too harsh with him!
I only live 20 mins outside the city, so I could see as many as I wanted if I had people to go with!
Many of my closest friends now in the city that I see shows with and hang out with are people I have met on BWW, or from shows. Great place to meet people you have lots in common with!
That's what I hope! I have been observing and just reading for quite a while. There are lot of fun and interesting people on here! At first, Chris used to bitch at me that I was on here to much. Now, he points me to the computer often so I will stop chewing his ear off about shows!
I have met both the "fun" and the "interesting" people... look out for some of them!!
liotte..I want to see Spring Awakens too. Miss P..I'd love to go on a date with you too. Let me know when and hopefully we'll make it happen. I'm seeing The Apple Tree next weekend I believe.
Ok Boobs, we will make plans!!!
hehe, thanks for the warning!
Hmmm...wonder where liotte puts me.."fun" or "interesting" ?
Boobs, quit making dates with other women.
I've been a "mom" so long, it's fun being "the other woman" for a change!
Boobs, you know you are on the good list!!
Hi Liotte and welcome Motortink - I'm one of the many people that has benefited from meeting people on BWW. I live in Michigan and only get to New York a few times a year but it is more fun now that I have some "friend" to share my broadway addiction with. I however go to many shows by myself. I always end up talking with people and I really enjoy going by myself. Good seats are also easier to get when looking for single seats so don't let that stop you.
baddy, you are always welcome to come see shows with me!!
Liotte, I'm sure baddy appreciates your invitation, but she wants to see something BESIDES Spelling Bee!
Thank you for the welcome! It may sound cliche - but I do not like going into the city by myself, or I would have def. seen many of the shows I want to by myself. I actually sometimes prefer it. I often see movies alone (and get stared at funny by people).
Is it bad that I am flying to Florida to see Wicked, when I live right outside the city?
Yes, remember I was there at Spelling Bee already with Liotte when the famous "theatre wave" happened! But Liotte I do love your taste in theater. Oh yes and we were also at Tarzan together. So see we see shows together and we don't even try!
I went to FL last week to see All Shook Up, and I have seen Wicked and Spelling Bee in multiple other cities. So I completely understand!
And Miss P, I see lots of other shows besides Bee! Just not on Sunday nights :)
I love traveling alone. It's so peaceful. (But I also love coming home.)
Cool. My step mother has an extra ticket to a performance in March, so I'll fly down and see it and get to see my dad, so can't go wrong there. Is there anything different in the tour version from the broadway version?
I am dying to see the Bee, but everyone I know thinks I'm crazy when I start explaining what it's about! Tarzan is the show I want to see most (I know, I know, but i have fallen in love with the cast recording!) at the moment!
Yes, baddy and I have seen lots together!!
Traveling alone can be great, but I get bored.
L, I just remember that week when you saw Bee in NYC and then flew to Chicago to see it twice in the same week!
Anyway, you know how I feel about seeing shows multiple times!
