MT, when you're traveling for work it's very different from traveling for fun!
Baddy and I enjoy the tranquility of leaving behind husband, kids and pets for a few days to get back in touch with our "inner beings"...and then having a few drinks together after seeing three shows in NYC in one day!!!

Yes, unfortunately, I have not yet traveled much for my own enjoyment. I loved what I was doing for work, but I really didn't get to experience any of the places I went. For enjoyment, I've been to Disney/FL & Vegas. That's it.

I rarely see 3 shows a day! Maybe on a Sunday, if there are 2 broadway shows and then something at Joe's Pub!
And yes, the staff and cast know me, I don't think they think I am stalking them but who knows!

Last time we were in NYC together, Baddy and I saw 3 shows together in one day (we also saw shows on the other days, but not 3 in 1!) It was during NYMF, so we saw a 2:00 BW matinee, a 5:00 NYMF musical and then an 8PM BW show. It was dizzying...but fun!

Mary Poppins was good, but not something I will see again for a very long time. And that says something for me!
All those others shows you named I have seen, though I hated Spamalot, thought the Producers was overrated and more offensive than funny, I liked the Color Purple and I was an original Renthead- I spent the night on the sidewalk before the lotto began, way back in 96. I feel fortunate to have seen the OBC 8 times!

I got to see Rent in 99. Manley Pope as Roger, yummy! I left there and bought the OBCR and was against Adam as Roger. I told myself no one could compare to the Roger I saw!! Then, slowly but surely I become an Adam pyscho fan, lol. Even though I like most of his other work better than his RENT work.
I've seen Cats, Les Mis (twice but not revival), The Scarlet Pimpernel, Beauty & The Beast, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, and the Grinch.

L - Did you not like Spamalot because you don't like Monty Python period? I have heard mixed reviews, but Holy Grail is one of my favorite movies, so I can't see how I wouldn't like it.
Producers - I have to see it, to see it! I know it probably isn't as good as I expect it to be, but I love both movie versions, so I have to at least see the play once!

I think I will go see Les Miz again next week, I was at the first preview, halloween, and opening night, I do love that show.

You know, L, I have been wondering about that myself. It's unlike anything else, so it's hard for me to say, "If you liked X, you'll love Grey Gardens."
You definitely SHOULD see it though. I will be seeing it for the 4th time next week and have tickets for February already. (I may even squeeze in a visit in January.) So you know where I stand!
If forced to give a reponse, I would say that you WILL like it.

Posted: 12/2/06 at 1:13amI saw Cats in 94 or 95. Les Mis in 97 & 99, Pimpernel 98, Rent 99, B&TB - 2002, ILYYPNC & Grinch - 2006. I had a lot of gaps in between and missed a lot of the shows I am now obsessed with (DRS, Aida, Cabaret, etc.)
