I was inspired to create this topic because of one I found the main board.
I’ve never been drunk, and have no plans to ever be. I can count on my ten fingers the number of drinks I have in a year. I haven’t even HAD alcohol this year yet.
I think for me it’s several things. One: my father was an alcoholic and others in my family have abused drugs, so I think it’s good for me to be extra careful. Two: I really don’t like the taste of alcohol. I have to have a mixed drink that helps disguise the taste if I’m going to like it. Three: I don’t like the idea of losing self control. I got tipsy from a mudslide and didn’t like that at all, so now I’m really careful. Four: I don’t want to have a hangover. Headache and throwing up? No thanks.

I've never been drunk.
The number one reason for this would be that I am not of legal age to drink. I know this doesn't stop most teenagers from taking part in the ritual underage drinking but I am not the type of person to break the law, mainly becuase I'm the type of person that WOULD get caught. not to mention that my entire family drinks excessively and i don't want to become one of them.
I've had a few glasses of wine and champagne at weddings and family gatherings, and I've tasted rum, vodka, and beer before (in tiny sips, just to see what they taste like) but I've never had enough to get drunk.

I have a few friends who abstain from alcohol. It's cool, I'm actually quite proud of them. I don't get drunk as often as I used too, does that count?

not only have i never been drunk, i've never had a drink in my life, not even at religious gatherings.
the people i hang out with all drink but they respect my choice to stay sober.

I turn 21 on Saturday and I'm not drinking.
I hate drinking for the sake of socialness. Sure, I've had drinks before. Some taste good. But to the point where you get drunk? Vomiting? Hangovers? Impaired judgement? JUST TO BE ACCEPTED IN A SOCIAL SITUATION? F*CK you, is what I say. Have two drinks then STOP.
At a young age, my best friend was hit by a drunk driver while she was roller blading on the SIDEWALK. It was 2:00 PM. Daylight. Clear as day. The driver was alone in his car. No one stopped him from getting into his vehicle. My friend is now paralyzed and mentally challenged. I'll never forget that the day before, we were just playing outside and she was normal. The day after, she would never speak or walk again.
I can't be around drunk people. I have never gotten the point, and never will. There are other things that can make you feel good. Do those things. Why waste your money hurting yourself, or worse, others?
PS: Last semester at my university, one student was so drunk he cut himself and smeared his blood all over the lobby walls. Another individual raped a friend of a friend. And another student from a neighboring campus came over let out the tires of several cars in a parking lot. Oh yes, how could I forget? Just the other day two theatre students decided to shave their heads. One was going to an audition the next week and the other is in a show at the moment.

I'm two thirds of the way towards three score and ten, and I've never been drunk. It isn't for everyone.
A visit to the Doctors or a Hospital can be like comic cuts in this day, and age.
Do you smoke? No.
Do you drink? No.
Have you ever drank? No.
What? not ever? No.
Sometimes they'll go for an incredulous, What? You've never drank, ever? No.
