"Oof...Warren not even winning in the state (Massachusetts) she represents in Congress and not even viable in the state (Oklahoma) she grew up."
You really should quit the race when you are 3rd in your home state -lol
There was a moment tonight when two protesters rushed Joe Biden on stage. His wife, Dr. Jill Biden, was having none of that. She immediately moved to protect the former Vice President. I have always admired Jill Biden, and perhaps never more than just a few minutes ago. A great person, a courageous woman, a dedicated Democrat....... and she will be an exceptional First Lady.

Agreed.
She really will be, those horrible Bernie protesters are despicable (as they always been).
Great day and clearly the election is back on track. Go Biden!
"Great day and clearly the election is back on track. Go Biden! "
Even with Biden's "great day", Bernie still has good chance of having more delegates than him when all the votes are counted tonight. Biden still forgets where he is at times, thought Chris Wallace was Chuck Todd, asked for support in his US Senate bid, said he negotiated climate deal with leader who had been dead for 20 years, claimed he was arrested in South Africa in support of Mandela and claimed there were 150 million gun deaths in US since 2007. In other words, Bernie is close to the same age but is a lot sharper mentally.
Biden’s mentation is certainly a concern at times. He’s been known for his non-sequitors for years. Still I believe he can get things done because he’s able to seek compromise. He gets that getting 50% of what you want is better than getting 0% but feeling superior while patting yourself on the back for not compromising. That’s my main concern about Sanders in addition to the fact that the math for his plans don’t add up, his recent heart problems that he hasn't been forthcoming about, and his embracing a semi-endorsement by a sexist, racist, homophobe and transphobe.
The turnout was beyond impressive. Biden certainly knows how to build a coalition. With help from Jim Clyburn and countless unsung operatives who know how to win elections, he brought suburban women, men with daughters, voters under 45 in two swing states, and voters from Oklahoma of all places back into the fold. Regardless of the delegate count in California, this bodes well for Biden in the hunt for the party nomination and in the road to 270. The Democratic party reset was a thing of beauty to behold which will be marveled at for years to come. North Carolina is definitely back in play!!! Expect a twitter storm from you-know-who.
Biden is like Bush in the sense that he is inarticulate and will say dumbass stuff. It will be embarrassing and give fodder to the right for jokes but Bush was elected twice so clearly gaffes alone aren’t enough to sway the public. Biden is much older and it can be played as senility but when your opponent at bat is Donald Trump, well, Trump is even worse.
I think we can win with Biden.
Biden has achieved something I didn't believe possible in 2020. He's created a new coalition that's an amalgam of the Bill Clinton & Barack Obama coalitions with considerable room for growth. There's so much upside to placing him at the top of the ticket. Mayor Pete and Amy Klobuchar have earned a tremendous amount of goodwill. Biden must do right by them.

Trump still has the advantage in NC, his rally in Charlotte NC had huge turnout and Republican convention is in Charlotte. African-American turnout will have to be huge and even with that Obama lost the state to Romney in 2012. Will be interesting and expect Trump to visit state quite often.

I agree but am optimistic that his advantage will be blunted by record turnout from African-American voters of multiple generations as well as suburban women, organized labor, college/university faculty/student-bodies, the LGBT community, and the underestimated Latinex population there.
Even if we use Hillary's last outing as the benchmark, wins for Biden in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are enough to send Trump packing. Another winning scenario is Biden winning North Carolina and Florida alone to pull in 276 electoral college votes. There are at least 3 reasonable permutations of wins by Biden in WI, MI, PA, NC, and FL that make this thing winnable for the Dems and Normalcy. All along I felt that Biden was the only one who stood a fighting chance against Trump in NC. None of us is interested in repeating the refran of, "but he (or she) won the popular vote".
I'm not big on polls but RealClearPolitics' NC general election polls are available here.
After watching more of these people talking it's even more clear that we need an age cap to be able to run. I'm more saddened that in a country full of so many intelligent people that this is the best we can do for candidates.
Bloomberg gone and his money will go to Biden along with his endorsement. It's done for Bernie and Warren.

And I'm saddened that people make such ageist comments.

Are you sad that there is a minimum age to run for president? And it's not even 18 or 21, it's 35.

This race is nowhere near over for Bernie. But continue to live in your imagination, I guess.
FYI - I wasn’t sure what was up with the protestors who rushed the stage at the Biden rally last night, but they were vegans, not necessarily Sanders supporters.

It's also well past time for Gabbard (the Republican masquerading as a Democrat) to give it up.

I think it was a minor mistake on the part of the creators of the Constitution. Although unlikely, there’s no logical reason why someone younger couldn’t be the best person for the job, and voters should have the right to make that choice. Of course I don’t expect this ever to change and I’m not losing sleep over it.
I also oppose term limits for a similar reason.
Biden has nabbed the all-important endorsement of former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm. Deets here.
Bernie & Warren are free to remain in the hunt for the nomination for as long as they wish. But, if Biden bags Michigan (MI) and Mississippi (MS) in the next cycle...
My dad and several other family members down in the Carolinas have been claiming for two weeks now that it's an open secret that Trump plans to bounce Pence from the ticket and pick up Nikki Haley. They also suggest that he sent Pence on a fool's errand with respect to Coronavirus but that's all too speculative for me to run with.
I'm trying to keep my focus on WI, MI, PA, NC, and FL.
I'm not comfortable stepping into the age debate but do hope that, if elected, Biden serves a term and steps down. I also want Nancy Pelosi to go out on a high note as House Speaker and pass the baton within 30 days of Biden's inauguration if it materializes. Nearly forgot, Jim Clyburn and Steny Hoyer are both hell of patriots who should be grooming successors already. IMO a Biden presidency would best be transitional in nature buoyed by a new leadership class in the House. This is a very unique election though which calls for a return to normalcy and a healthy dose of conventional wisdom...better the devil you know.
I’m sure no one here will beleive me whatsoever, but I have heard from inside sources (DC elite, I know as a Bernie supporter you’d be shocked to hear this lol), that Trump will drop Pence for Haley. Conservative Moderates LOVE her to death. Strategically, good move for trump. Just adding more fuel to that rumor, Ive legitimately heard this as well. We’ll see if he follows thru. She’s been pretty silent on trump for years so I figured they were either grooming her for President if Trump were impeached, or VP.
Are you sad that there is a minimum age to run for president? And it's not even 18 or 21, it's 35.
I know what I was like at 18 and at 21, much less see what most 18-21 year-olds are like now, so no, not sad about that at all. This is why I think political experience and savvy is so crucial to choosing a President. Idealism rarely translates into procedure and legislation.
Also, young voters certainly didn’t show up yesterday. Shows their frustration with this country because they feel their vote doesn’t matter. That’s the danger of the trump presidency folks, get people to beleive democracy no longer exists. I’d still like to think that the young voters would turn out for Bernie in the general, though. But they’re not proving me right currently lol.
But now, republicans will just force investigations into Biden like they did for Hillary. Idk why people want another election like that but hey, go for it. Nothing to investigate Bernie over, just attack him on policy rather than character. Trump is a bully and knows how to attack and demean a character but he’s got no clue how government works so attacking policy I personally believe Bernie can just own him on that.
And yes, I can’t stay away. I’ve never attacked anyone on their beliefs on here, just sharing mine and why I beleive my candidate is the one to beat Trump. It was a big day for Joe yesterday but this is far, far from over. I genuinely just worry Biden is literally Hillary 2.0 from 2016 and we”re asking for another 4 years of trump with him on the ballot

I'm not saying they should be, I'm actually fine with it being a minimum of 35 but there should be a cap too. It's silly to say that it makes you sad that I'm being ageist when a minimum age of 35 is exactly the same thing. I'm pretty sure we could find plenty of people under that 35 minimum that could run this country better than Trump though. At the worst they wouldn't be as bad as him when it comes to public speaking and social media lol
I'd make it 66(the current full benefits retirement age) before you're sworn in and you don't get a second term if you pass that age during your first term.
Biden will be 78 and Sanders 79 before either of them would be sworn in. They both realistically have a high chance of passing away while in office.

Don't call me silly. Have respect for other posters.
