For future reference- FOX and the Post are part of a vast media empire of right-wing hypocrisy. Conservative propaganda combined with tabloid sensibility. Gotta love it.

"...way to call my bluff."
You're all bluff. That's what makes you so resoundingly dismissable.

Oh, I take into account your "Hitler did some good" and "slavery was good for the US economy" discussions too.

BWAHAHAHA!
*cough*
*wheeze*
How to put this nicely?
History is highly subjective, hon. You take from it what you want to see.
I love the pissing matches! Reminds me of walking the dog and the dance he does with a neighbor';s dog to pee on the same spot. Gotta love this board!

I think that your statement is true, but probably the reverse effect you were going for.

Why I voted for George W. Bush on November 2nd:
At the end of World War I Woodrow Wilson almost immediately withdrew all American Troops from Germany. This was a very popular policy here in the States. He, along with the leaders of our allies in that war, decided that since that war was the fault of Germany and Austria-Hungary, they should be slapped with huge war reparations for pay for it. This also was a very popular policy here in the States. The reparations destroyed the economies of Germany and Austria leading to hyperinflation was well as severe civil unrest. These factors led to the rise of the Nazis and essentially caused World War II to happen. But hey, Wilson was popular back home during his administration and that’s what is important.
At the end of World War II Harry Truman kept troops in both Germany and Japan. This was very unpopular back home. He also did not impose reparations on those countries. This too was unpopular back home. At one point in late 1945 Truman’s approval rating was 20%.
Today Germany and Japan both have very stable democratic governments that we all take for granted.
So I voted for Bush because of the beginnings of Democracy in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
For ten years I was in the military. One of the things the military promises is free medical. I remember all those times I waited in line for the entire day just to be seen by a medic. Not an MD, but a medic. Only to then be given some Motrin if I was in pain, or some cough syrup if I had a cold or flu. Just last night I was watching CSPAN and they had on the “Prime Minister’s Questions” from the UK House of Commons which, by the way, is interesting for the procedure, if nothing else. They were discussing how women with breast cancer had to wait as long as five months for treatment under the state run health care system there. Socialized health care leads to long lines, no inducement to innovate, and over-all poor care for everyone.
So I voted for Bush because he is against socialized health care.
Partial-birth abortion is murder plain and simple. I will not go into a graphic description of what partial birth abortion exactly is, if you don’t know, google it.
So I voted for Bush because he is against partial-birth abortion.
The Second Amendment is in place to insure the People can keep and bear arms in order to protect their property, families, and themselves from an invading armed force. It is also in place to insure the People could defend themselves for a tyrannical domestic force. This worked in the first decade (can’t remember what year) of the 20th Century in San Francisco. The local authorities had suppressed the people into a sort of pay for protection situation (think Gene Hackman in The Quick and the Dead.) So some local townspeople got together, got out their guns, and took care of business.
So I voted for Bush because of the Republican Party’s opposition to the Assault Weapon Ban. This law prohibited the People from arming themselves to the same extent as the standing infantry, which was the intent of the Second Amendment.
I voted for Bush for his support of more fuel-efficient vehicles. (note that Michigan went to Kerry)
I could go on about how the Bush Tax cut really does NOT favor the ultra wealthy. I could go on about how this most recent recession was one of the shortest in US history and how there is always unemployment in a recession. I could go on about how a good deal of unemployment was due to the Sept. 11th attacks.
I will also say that religious values had nothing to do with it. I couldn’t care less.
I guess my reasons for voting for Bush are more complex and wordy that someone who is just against him for one reason or another and they can sum-up their opposition to him in a sentence or two.
Don’t bother with your usual responses of twisting stuff around. I’m not interested.
Have a nice day.
So I'm at work and the kids are back in school and all so I only have a minute. But Rodney...the difference with Bush/Iraq and WWI is that WWI wasn't created by the President. And did Kerry ever say he wanted to pull all the troops out of Iraq?
Leading Actor Joined: 11/3/04
For the record, Kerry was never particularly clear on alot of things.
Rodney just made me puke a little.
Leading Actor Joined: 11/3/04
No that parts good. But no matter how much you rationalize voting for that ****head, it still doesn't make sense.
Broadway Legend Joined: 3/4/04
Ooh, a fight between munkus and Rodney?
*grabs popcorn*
Great.
I'm just very let down by this entire election. the fact that that many people in this country are so ignorant makes me sad, and unfortunately, doesn't say much for the future of the US. I know this has been said before, but I am researching school and such in England at the moment. I dont know if I can leave new york, though. The day Dubya was announced as the winner, a giant cloud spread out over the land again. It's awful. I'm calling for an assassination.
thanks for giving us the insight, rod.

well, then i will.
1)Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps.
2)The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
3)The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
4)The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
5)The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.
how about that?
Just because you're against bush doesn't mean you're for partial birth abortions, which I am hardcore against. Is bush against just that - or abortion in general.
yeah i'm anti-bush as well, i just thought i'd mention it because it blows my mind that it exists. i think mr. bush is too totaltarian (if that makes sense) in his abortion stance- sometimes the mother's life is in danger, sometimes there's rape... he didn't make allowences for that. but that's just one of 12379812749837498237598235238742938742 reasons i don't like him.
thats a shamme. but my profile quote is still funny.
