Support Joe Wilson's opponent, Rob Miller for Congress:

Last night he increased his campaign fund by over $96,000 with contributions from people outraged by Rep. Wilson's "You lie" outburst.
Predictably, the outburst was the lead story on TODAY, framed as a sidebar to the speech, it nevertheless received immediate replay and exposure. Switch to ABC, Sawyer is asking Biden about Wilson's remark in the opening exchange. Let's see it for what it was: more of the same, up a notch. Wilson just employed the Metropolitan Opera version of the town hall strategy. Does anyone doubt his line was flooded with attaboy's?
What fascinates me is the particular element he chose, the "cue" that inspired a page turn in the playbook. The death panel card is soooo pre-Labor Day, so they'll trump your granny killers and Lou Dobbs-ize the President. What's next, the gay marriage card? No health insurance for spouses, period? They've used the abortion card.
Seems clear that this version of the boogeyman is going to be illegal aliens. By the way, the bill that's making it's way through Congress explicitly exludes illegal immigrants. It reeks of Lobbs & Beck.
Do you have the language that excludes illegal immigrants handy?
It's in the 3rd paragraph in this link:
Link
From madbrian's link:
""Nothing in this title shall allow federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States."
To quote "Amadeus": Well ... there it is.
"To quote "Amadeus": Well ... there it is."
"too many notes....."
sorry, couldn't help it!
PJ, maybe the language was just too big for them, and they missed it.
".. individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States ..."
It should have said, " ... those dang illegal furriners ... "
Or maybe the right-wing freaks understood it completely, and they're all just a bunch of LIARS.
They're either stupid or liars. Those are the only choices after reading this. And either way, they lose.
This morning, my mom said to me, "I am so proud to be a South Carolinian this morning." See....what did I say in the Sanford thread? BRAINWASHED!
House Majority Whip James Clyburn, a South Carolina Democrat, said:
"Joe Wilson took our state's reputation to a new low. I thought Mark Sanford had taken it as low as it could go, but this is beyond the pale."

The web is full of Republicans who "Know" that illegal immigrants WILL be covered, no matter what the President says.
Just like they "Know" Obama is going to take their guns, kill their Grandmothers and force them to get an abortion.
Just like they "Knew" where the weapons o mass destruction were and that we'd be greeted as liberators in Iraq.

Yep, immigrants are definitely the Republican whipping boy issue after the gay card has been worn out. And I do mean immigrants in general, who often get conflated with illegals in those inane "discussions." Good times.
I have just got to chime in here. I don't care who you are or how you feel about the President, yelling something out like that idiot did last night was ridiculous.
Granted, I didn't much care for President Bush, et al, and would yell at the tv for him to shut up, etc., but I never would do have done something like that in person.
Same with the bozos who think it's their right to carry guns in areas where the President is appearing. This never would have happened or have been tolerated when Bush was in office. Remember how many innocent people were arrested during the RNC when it was held in NYC in 2004?
Freedom of speech my ass. Show some respect. I'm with Romantico on this and say Wilson should be taken to task.
It should have said, " ... those dang illegal furriners ... "
Or "fawnahs" depending on the state.
It's perfect. He looks like a real tool.
Between SC Lying adulterer of a Governor and now this racist who has a not so flattering resume,I would feel emabarrssed for anyone who claims to be proud to be a South Carolinian, but hey that's just me.

I think Wilson did an excellent job for the GOP. Instead of discussing the health plan... every pundit is talking about his behavior.
Shifting the focus is a recognized (an sadly effective) GOP tactic.
Over $180K raised for Rob Miller since last night!
