Spiderdj82,my heart goes out to you. Good Luck! If it makes you feel any better Sanford has called a press conference this afternoon. Maybe he will FINALLY do what MANY Republicans have demanded and resign.
Joe Wilson has a history of apologizing(or being forced to apologize)If you ask me, Joe Wilson hates Black people.

Wilson calls outburst "spontaneous", stands by belief that bills will fund "illegal aliens"
In his first public comment on the incident, Wilson tells reporters that the Republican House leadership had contacted him last night and "wanted me to contact the White House and state that my statements were inappropriate."
"I did," Wilson says. "I'm very grateful that the the White House, in talking with me, they indicated that they appreciated the call and that we needed to have a civil discussion about the health care issue, and I certainly agree with that."
He says his outburst during the president speech was "spontaneous."
Wilson also indicates that he stands by his belief that at least some of the bills working their way through Congress would not prevent "illegal aliens" from taking advantage of the health care system.

I think something put the fear of Rahm into him.
Yeah. "Spontaneous". Sort of like Liza!
Dig it deeper, bitch. Dig it deeper.
The pathetic thing about what he's done is that there seems to be (from my reading) no clear way in the bill for illegal residents to be excluded, given how easy it is to defraud the system.
But now that issue can NEVER be discussed by the media. His behavior is the only issue people want to talk about.

Illegal aliens do NOT deserve health care. Didn't you see ET?
Moving away from this cult member, what did we think of Obama's speech beside?
I thought it was brilliant, myself.
I did too, Borstal. I loved it. Brilliant speech and brilliantly delivered.
I love his straight to the point style. No beating around the BUSH.

I thought it was fine. I think think his plan sounds decent, although I'm still fuzzy on the plans to keep people from going into bankruptcy because of medical bills. And I'm not holding my breath that this insurance exchange is really going to fix things either, but I'm going to try and remain optimsitic.
All that said, Obama has really solidified himself s the same "politics as usual" politician he claimed to deride in the campaign. That in and of itself isn't a huge tragedy, although although talk of how above it all he was obscured discussion of actual issues (which again, isn't really such a bad thing, since he's shown himself to be rather spineless and wishy washy) in the same way all the outbursts at the town hall meetings obscured actual debate.
Here's a funny one--keep clicking

We've got (at least) four years of this, folks. Better to get used to it now.
OHHHH...We're the boys of the chorus
We hope you like our show
We know you're rootin' for us
But now we have to go!
Second verse, same as the first...
If only those "boys of the chorus" really DID have to go.
So, is the outrage over him shouting out, or calling Obama a liar?

Six of one, half dozen of the other I think. Bad form to invite someone to speak and then be rude to him.
That said, the leader of the republican party (Rush Limbaugh) has finally spoken about this- Obama is lying because, while the bill specifies NO coverage for illegal immigrants, it doesn't specify that patients be required to PROVE citizenship before receiving health care.
Just think of that a moment. Obviously one thinks of an immigrant in an emergency room, bleeding profusely while citizenship papers are found. But now, think of YOU or a loved one in an emergency room. Do YOU carry your birth certificate at all times? How long would it take for YOU to prove you are an American Citizen?
And of course, what if President Obama were injured? Republican doctors would NEVER accept his papers.
So this guy is all "they told me to apologize so I am" and the other guy who spanked the lobbyist is all "sorry about my comments". They're not sorry at all. Just ho-bags.
The bill isn't intended to deny illegal aliens the right to seek medical attention, it's about not using federal funds to subsidize their access to a public option. That's explicitly prohibited in the current version of the bill.
Whatever happened to acts of contrition?
Politics and contrition so rarely go together. It's a dirty game. Very few good people play it.
The bill doesn't deny illegal aliens emergency care. But it has to be an emergency. And that's the system that's currently being abused.

Another thing I was unclear on was the "no federal funds for abortion" pandering proclamation. Does that mean that the mythical public option (or even these exchanges) will not allow women to use their coverage for abortion, even though abortion is a legal, legitimate medical procedure?

Wilson's website is "temporarily" closed down due to "high traffic".

Yes Phyllis. There is a current federal law (The Hyde Act- named for the vile Illinois congressman, not Mt. Jeckyll's alter ego) that does not allow federal dollars to pay for an abortion, ever.

Weird. How is THAT constitutional?
