Are we moving toward a point where something is going to be retro before it even happens?

Am I mistaken that someone could have been a child in the 90's, and yet still be a child?

And yet we're having 'look back in time' thoughts about something that hasn't yet ended?

I'm obviously missing something.

Hey don't be a party-pooper, it's fun, whether or not it's retro or whatever. And actually, a lot of the stuff we're talking about really isn't around anymore, at least not to my knowledge. Especially the tv shows.

It's possible for someone to have been a child in the 90's and still be one now. I don't consider myself a child anymore, though. I like the term young adult.

This one's a little tougher to answer. anyone who was between the ages of 8-18 for any part of the 90s would be a 90s child. I don't think it's necessary to get more specific then that, though.

edit: basically, it's anyone who can relate to what we're talking about.

I'm 20, so I spent all of grade school and middle school in the '90s. My 8th grade class was so excited to be the class of the millenium, which seems silly now, as does all that Y2K stuff.

BTW, what does everyone call this decade? The two thousands? The zeros? I have a professor who calls it the nots.

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"

You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air" - I even know most of the part in the airplane from the very first episodes.

You remember when Kurt Cobain, Tu Pac, River Pheonix, and Selena died.

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons. Inspector Gadget ruled my world

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school (and Amazon Trail!) I've played the games, but we did not get a day to play them in school... *jealousy*

You remember reading "Goosebumps" - My best friend did. I thought they were dumb.

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school (with the thermoses)

You danced to "wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot gay-er.

You remember the craze then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere Actually, I had an "8-in-1 minipet". You could turn it into 8 different kinds of animals. I usually stuck with fish or butterfly. It was awesome, and I lent it to a friend, and she lost it, and I still haven't forgiven her.

You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles Michaelangelo was my nickname in kindergarten. This show was definitely on in the '80s

Yikes pencils and erasers were the ****. They were four stars indeed.

Lol... I think the term "party pooper" is an old fogey word in the first place. But anyway.

So I was sitting in school today and I was thinking... remember when Nick had that theme song? It was like... N-N-N-N-N-Nick Nick Nick Nickelodeon! Sorry. I know that's really random but it was stuck in my head all day. lol.

I was definitely a huge fan of Inspector Gadget myself...
