man i miss all those shows.
Aw hell no!
That ain't old school.
Old school is YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION with Moose, Lisa, Alastair, Kevin, Brodie and Vanessa!
Old school is TURKEY TV.
Old school is BELLE AND SEBASTIAN, TODAY'S SPECIAL and DANGERMOUSE.
Hrmm...I don't know.
*buckets of slime cascade down*
Best. Show. Ever.
i think robbiej and i were in the same grade....
Ahhhhh the days of early cable. Why back in mah day Nickelodeon only ran 12 hours daily and then would turn into A&E (which actually, believe it or not, would show Arts and Entertainment shows) at 6pm.
THE THIRD EYE
YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION
CALLIOPE
Ah the innocence of yesteryear...
I loved Legends of the Hidden Temple. best thing in the world. REally wanted to be on the show. Survior reminds me of it, sort of. And are you afraid of the dark was awesome too.
How much of a dork would it make me if I told you I'd found all the old YCDTOTV episodes on DVD -- including most of the very old, very Canadian episodes? And Belle and Sebastian on VHS thanks to an Australian friend who had taped the entire series?
Remember also how they used to show Dennis the Menace and Lassie all the time? I never watched that Star Trek cartoon or that other one about the lost cities of gold. But Today's Special, David the Gnome and Pinwheel entertained me on many a sick day.
And with this post, I am now a legend. Hmm. Five months. That's not too obnoxious, is it?

Doug is old school for me. I still love that show.
"pinwheel, pinwheel, spinning around...look in my pinwheel and see what I've found..."
*dramatic sigh of forlorn nostalgia*
Some of my happiest memories are of curling up in the couch with my mom when I was sick as a child and watching Nick all afternoon. I also LOVED The Little Prince...
now that you're a sick adult, jaily, what do you watch?
I don't watch much TV anymore...when I do, it's usually a surgery show on Discovery Health.
I just LOVE watching people get cut up, for some reason...
Well that's our pleasantly morbid Jaily for ya.
Holy crap! Where has this thread been all my life? My brother and I wre addicted to You Can't Do That On Television and Hey Dude.
I find it funny that Marc Summers (host of Double Dare) had OCD. That show was so messy!
Rockos Modern Life was also a good one....and Doug used to be good...until they sold it to Disney. UGH. DISNEY RUINS EVERYTHING.

Oh, I know, drama! I watched it on Disney one afternoon and suddenly Doug and Patti and Skeeter all looked way too cool. And I think they even thinned out Connie. What the hell! Where are the fat girls cartoon characters!
legends of the hidden temple was the best show EVER! (look at my new avatar hehe)

Clarissa Explains It All. Though Clarissa's outfits look completely insane today. :)
Ooh, and Rugrats! At least the episodes before they "revived" it and made the first movie. Afterwards it started becoming all stupid fart jokes. They lost the soul of it.
I forgot about Pete & Pete and Salute Your Shorts! And Clarissa Explains It All!!

I agree with everything katygrace just said! I suddenly really, really miss old school Nickelodeon. *wistful sigh*
What was that show with the scary stories that were about as lamely scary as the woozles on Welcome to Pooh Corner? (there -- I mixed in an old-school Disney Channel reference to confuse everyone)

I miss the old Nick and Nite, with the likes of Patty Duke and Donna Reed.
Not me!
*Breaks into song. "Heffalumps and woozles come in onezles and twozles!"
The show you're thinking of was "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" I used to watch it with this girl my mom made me hang out with.
Remember how the station used to just have the same lame commercials over and over again? Flexiblocks! I can't remember any others. I'll bet Mr. Wizard would know, though.
"We've got to strengthen our knees -- strengthen our knees for comedy. We've got to strengthen our knees. Strengthen our knees for Ha!"
If anyone remembers where that came from, I'll be seriously concerned.
eta: Yes, KG, that was the show. Ooh! The scarecrow's going to get me! Scary!
