Dean's "Being Fatwahed" was to die for.
And his family picture, THE LOVE CAMEL, is fantastic!
"But what does that have to do with Middle Eastern clothing?"
about as much as it has to do with Broadway....

My post wasn't about Broadway or being Muslim. It was about patriotism. So I say again, what does any of that have to do with any of this?

Blah blah blallah.
MBF, you're writing style seems very familiar....
MBF--are you Shia or Sunni?
Did anyone catch Babara Cook's performance in SHIA LOVES ME?
I think he's Myron Cohen.

Pal: neither. Why?
And finally, the decent, productive thread has found its troll.
robbie, it's great that she can still hit the note in the song "Basbousa" from that show after all these years.
Well played, my little infidel.
Well played.
I thought you might like to direct your feet to the Sunni side of the street!

Stick a fork in this thread. The Shiite is hitting the fan.
That makes me so sad...and when Sunni gets blue, her eyes get gray and cloudy.
whenever i get stuck on a thread like this i just ask wwthid*?
* what would the hidden imam do
Imami! Imami!
The sun shines east!
The sun shines west!
But I know where
The sun shines best.
On Imami,
My little Imami!
My heartstrings are tangled around
Sulaymani-yah!
papa - it must suck to be so self hating and jaded.
PalJoey - I still don't know where you're coming from in insinuating that I would put forth anything BUT hope or optimism to my students. The views I express on a message board of my interpretation of what's happening in the world are NOT similarly expressed in my classroom discussions with my students. Fact is, I let my students form their own opinions (dangerous, I know, I should be ridden out on a rail for that one). I may try to guide them in their thoughts, but indoctrinating my students with MY beliefs or opinions on political matters is completely anathema to me. If my students are left wing liberals or hardcore conservatives, that's up to them. Honestly, if my students know what those terms are and actually HAVE opinions I'm happy. If they can express those opinions, so much the better.
i dunno. based on what you post around here it's a toss-up as to whether you even know where the classroom is, much less what you're doing inside it.
poor, unfortunate kids.
papa -- without looking, tell me what subject, grade level, and area where I teach.
First' papa I think YOU fullfil the
"thanks for being bww's face of ignorant arrogance. "
which you have been since your first second on this site. And I am pretty sure 99% of the people on this site agree with me on that one.
And the things Jason teaches ONE student is more positive than the combination of everything you have tried to instill in anyone in your entire life. If you think this is a hyperbole then you are an idiot because if you are ANYTHING like you are here it is the truth.

Count me amongst the 1%.
Reading comprehension is a terrible thing to have lost - but this board makes me wonder if anyone still posesses that skill.
"Count me amongst the 1%."
Me too!
Us too.
