Hopefully there are pictures from it.
It's about a fisherman who catches a fish that's too small to keep, but just too lovely to throw back into the ocean. It's about their friendship. The song that Mano sang was probably about the fisherman running the LINE in, with the fish on it.
Yeah...it's too early to think or be serious, or even funny.
Am I going crazy...or did Em post something after this? I've noticed that posts have gone missing on several threads! Apocalypse!
I had posted something.... as did a few other people. Something was weird this morning; RobbO was posting silly things in a lot of threads, maybe that went away?

Damn, Mano's busy!

Anyone going to go? The thing with stuff like this is that... I can't really justify going to see someone sing one song, when I don't know of any of the other performers, and stuff like that. It seems a little silly when you're on a limited budget.
I think it's cool that he's doing lots of different stuff.

Emcee, I think you're right about generally avoiding concerts where a favorite performer is only singing one song when you're on a limited budget, but that Playbill article mentions that particular show has a unique admission price -- a jar of change. It also mentions that there's a two drink minimum, though, so I'm not sure if you could attend/want to risk attending the event anyway.
Hm. That's an interesting approach.
Either way, I've got to work all day Monday and I probably will want to go home after that anyway. Plus, I'm seeing Mano tomorrow anyway.
On a grander scale, I guess I'm just trying to think a little more before I'm like "OMG YAY!" and go to every. single. thing.

That's a good approach. When you think about it, he's probably singing one song that you've already heard quite a few times by now already.
WHOA. Joe Cassidy! Good to know he's still in the city! Hope to see him back on Broadway soon.
Anyway, I'm not even going to have to go through the turmoil of getting excited over it and then realizing I can't go because I'll be on vacation then anyway. Plus I have my Sept 25 tix and I'm probably seeing Sweeney in August. Huzzah.
So, because I'm getting all of my wisdom teeth out (on my sister's birthday), my father said that I could pick a show to see (as long as I pay) and he'll drive me into the city (he doesn't like me walking around alone...even though I have before, but that's very reasonable)..
One guess what I picked.
Seriously, I have actual reasons. I just have to pick a day.

About those missing posts...
This might explain it.

Annnnyyyywaaayy....
I've added to my list of songs (aka..."The Schumel Song". Long list.) that I would randomly like to hear Manoel sing: a cover of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Deep Blue Something. For some reason, lately I'm smitten with that song.
Hee, Sweeney today.
Hehe, yay for you.
Heh, my mom decided this morning that she wants to go, too.
