Gary Mauer's performance in Phantom of the Opera.... oh dear God. I saw him three times and each time I bawled like a baby. He just... got it. The whole, brilliant genius, and at the end he was just... ah.
and of course Wicked. I just saw it from front row center in Chicago, when my mom and I won Wicked Lotto. And i started tearing up during "No one Mourns the Wicked." Just because of the look on Glinda's face... you could tell she was in the moment, and you could tell she had just lost her best friend.
and of course during Defying Gravity. When she flew, God, I just wept. My mom looks over at me and tears are just STREAMING down my face, jaw was shaking. I was a mess.
and of course during For Good, because two days after I saw the performance I was leaving for camp for five weeks (which I'm still at) and the memory of my friend Ashley.
I'm an emotional wreck when it comes to that show.

High School Musical. From start to finish. Definitely the most depressing piece of theater ever.
No, I'm kidding; just thought that was funny. Actually, I rather enjoyed parts of it. Anyway, I was chocked up once when I discovered the orchestrations after "We Do Not Belong Together". What can I say, I'm a sucker for Sondheim!
EDIT: Hmmm, it occurs to me that neither of those are actually shows, since I was listening to the recording of SITPWG.

Rent- from Without Yout, through the end of the show. It just hits me so hard.
Light In The Piazza- Not the best show to see when you're depressed about being single, haha
Almost cried during Ragtime and Sweeney Todd

Oh boy
I cry all the time hahaha.
Wicked- The moment Idina ran onstage, I gasped and said "there she is," and teared up.
- Defying Gravity. When she rose up "flying" I was crying uncontrollably. It was absolutely breathtaking and she was so amazing.
Once On This Island- Ti Moune's character went through so much for Daniel and got nothing in return. I felt horrible. I cried my eyes out.
Les Mis- On My Own, everytime. Bring Him Home. And the finale with Fantine and Eponine singing with Jean Valjean.
Phantom of the Opera- All I ask of You. I bawled.
Rent- Without You. And Halloween. I'll Cover you Reprise, bawled like a baby.
Piazza- Even though I only saw it on PBS, it was incredible and so powerful.
Little Women- I never cried so much in my life at a show. I cried during Astonishing, The Kite Song, Days of Plenty, and The Fire Within Me. Basically the whole second act. Maureen McGovern was absolutely incredible and I was in complete awe of her and her talent. Days of Plenty absolutely killed me.

Rent(started crying during Angel's Funeral when Collins sang "I'll Cover You"(reprise) and after the funeral too)
I cried during The Lion King because it was my first show in NYC and it was amazing and yeah lol. I saw it during a school trip and we also saw Beauty and the Beast the next day but I didn't cry during that. I loved the music that played before the 2nd act started though.

Posted: 7/12/06 at 8:12pmRent, Miss Saigon (both times. And everytime I listen to the Cast Recording. But not in the typical places.) Aida. Light in the Piazza. Cabaret (partially because I was watching a good friend giving a fabulously emotional performance). Dead End. I'm a pretty emotional person! I didn't cry at Wicked though, but probably because two separate duos sang "For Good" in my musical theatre class so I had seen the scene/song many, many times. On the flip side, I laughed so hard I cried at both Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Drowsy Chaperone.

During Defying Gravity when I saw Wicked
Practically the entire second act of Chorus Line (hasn't everybody into musical theatre done that?
)
During Tomorrow and Hard Knock Life in Annie
During Some Thing Are Meant to Be in Little Women
I got quite emotional during the reading of the musical Piece. Scott Allan is an "amazing" young composer.
And I "always" tear up when I listen to the Fame cast recording; sometimes, it gets so bad that I have to turn it off. Literally. And Bring on Tomorrow ... beyond extremely amazing, but practically too much for me emotionally!!!!!!!!!!

RENT - Every time I see it, I just bawl like a baby. It basically starts during "Without You" and keeps on going throughout the rest of the show, with a few dry-eyed moments. The "I'll Cover You" reprise is my most emotional moment.
Wicked - When Elphaba (whomever the actress may be at the time) flies up during "Defying Gravity", I get chills and then of course start crying. I always try to hold back tears. Oh, and then during "For Good."
Beauty and the Beast - During this one, I cry because it's such a timeless childhood story that's come to life. Oh and now I'll cry because I've been in it and I'll miss it.
Steel Magnolias - Now that I've played M'Lynn, the breakdown in the end is even MORE emotional for me to watch.
Three Days of Rain - I started crying when Julia Roberts first came onstage. But...then I realized that there was nothing to be excited about, because the show was pretty bad. I saw it during previews, though. Maybe it perked up a bit.

Posted: 7/29/06 at 11:53amDancinqueen123, it's not a bad thing to cry! haha this coming from one of the biggest crybabies of the theater. My latest and probably funniest for others was when I saw Spelling Bee in Chicago and during the I Love You Song I completley lost it and just bawled my eyes out. I had done lotto on a whim and was wearing a really dumpy sweatshirt and nasty brown shorts and hadn't shaven...I probably looked like a child molester. But anyways I got a lot of looks from people. I don't know what it is about that song but it just really hits me hard. Anyways I cry in pretty much every show.

Posted: 7/31/06 at 3:33amI actually cry when I'm listening to soundtracks. Rarley, but if I'm sad I can't help it at all. I just finished a show tonight that I absolutley loved being in, and I've been crying at like every song I turn on.

Posted: 7/31/06 at 3:57amI cry in nearly every show! Rent's the one that does it every time though, I always bawl like a baby, even listening to the soundtrack gets me (during I'll Cover You reprise anyway)

I think I've cried at every show I've seen. Well except Chicago.
I started crying during the overture of Wicked but that's because i was overwhelmed. It was my first broadway show.
I think a good show brings the audience to a catharsis and they need a release. I don't about everyone else but I feel so relaxed after a good show and cry.
