LightsOut90, I don't want the ticket, but you should unfortunately probably have to lower your asking price, because you could get around row D rear mezzanine for $85 on today tix.

I'll trade you a past date $20 lottery ticket to On the Town for it. Though I suggest checking to see if they will past date a lottery ticket first.
This show is pretty much selling out almost every night and it's a limited run. Even if they have a policy of post dating, it's done as a courtesy and only works if there are seats that will clearly go unsold. They're not going to give out a replacement ticket for free when they can sell the seat. How many times is the buyer going to have to go to the theater hoping to exchange the post dated ticket for that night only to be told, sorry we're sold out today. Who would want to deal with that kind of hassle when you can get a confirmed ticket for $10 more and know you actually have a seat for that performance. If someone offers you $25, take it.

I'll take best offer at this point
I'll give you zero dollars because that's how much a past-date ticket is worth, you pathetic swindler wannabe.

Past dated tickets are always a risk. There is no certainty they will be honored. Just give it away in the hopes someone can use it - otherwise you'll just end up with a useless piece of paper instead of the thought that you may gave given someone a lovely night in the theater.
I hope your friend is better.
You are attempting to defraud and swindle.
I may be an asshole, but you, sir, are a thief.
You are asking someone to buy a lottery ticket. On the CHANCE that they'll be able to use it. Just because they will past date, doesn't mean that it will actually happen.
Rather silly of you to be selling. You would have likely had better luck selling it AT the theater...folks are always looking for extra seats.

Its not a lottery ticket. And whatever I'm ultimately not losing the money, was just trying to help my friend get a few bucks back.
And what do you and your friend intend to do when the buyer attempts to exchange the past-dated ticket for a new one and the request is denied?
Do you intend to refund the money?

The courtesy of past-dating is at the sole discretion of management and subject to availability and black out dates, and there is no guarantee that the patron will get a seat location comparable to her original location. Past-dating is also usually not available during holiday weeks or the final week of a production's engagement. For a hit show, past-dating may not be possible until several years into the show's run.

Or do you intend to take the money and run--and call anyone who calls you out on this an "asshole"?
