Drowsy gets 13
TCP gets 11
Pajama Game gets 9
Jersey Boys gets 8
What fun! This is my first time being able to hear/see it all live!

Lestat gets pretty much diddly squat... is this goodbye?
With 13 noms, DROWSY must now be considered the clear frontrunner
Go Carolee and Beth Leavel.
I must say, I'm quite pleased with the noms but I must confess there aren't a lot of surprises. The biggest surprise I saw skimming it down was Danny Burstein/Featured in a musical.
THe Tony nom is Carolee's present for being in that crappy show!

No big surprises. A little disappointed for Hugh... Although very excited for Carolee! Whee! :)

I am VERY pleased with this years nominees. The only suprise I thought was Chita Rivera for Best Actress.

In My Life totally got snubbed. Time to Boycott the Tony's
I'm also happy to see the Intiman got the regional award! That's Bart Sher's theatre! Go Seattle!
I don't know, Bobby. I think it's pretty clear that Carolee is well-liked and received as a great musical theatre performer. But heck yeah they had to nominate her for rising above the dreck!
I remembered that there are TVs in the lounge (that nobody uses) so I scampered down there to watch the nominations on NY1.
My first thought:
Pablo Schreiber over Dominic Cooper?!?!?! BOOOOO!!!
"With 13 noms, DROWSY must now be considered the clear frontrunner"
Granted, Jersey Boys got 8, only 5 less. 3 of those, Jersey Boys wan't eligible for (Leading and Supporting Actress, and Original Score). I would say that these two are neck and neck considering Jersey Boys won the Outer Critics award.
I'm mostly happy. Yay for Carolee, Chita, and Mano for snagging nominations!
Wow. Chita? Carolee? Hmm.
And Tarzan was almost completely snubbed, too.
I think the best actress category will be very interesting come awards night. As will featured actress. (both musical)
I wouldn't call Drowsy the frontrunner just yet but giving the neck-and-neck edge to Jersey because it won the Outer Critics award's pretty, uh, silly.
How did Cyndi not get a nom?
She's exquisite!

Chita deserved her nomination so much. I thought Jersey Boys should of gotten the coreography nod,
As far as I can tell -- only one for Tarzan (lighting), one for WIW (Score), 2 for Lestat (costumes and Carolee).
Only unexpected omissions I see so far are Cherry Jones and Frances Sternhagen.
I just about screamed my head off for Megan Lawrence's nomination. I was worried she wasn't going to get one! LOL
No Amy Spanger.. which I thought was expected, but there WAS a shot...
Surprised Cyndi didn't make the cut also!
personally, i thought the biggest surprise was Brandon Victor Dixon getting a nod for The Color Purple!

Now, I love Carolee.
But a nom over Cyndi?
That's called spite.
Like I promised. IT's time to go Code Brecht up in this bitch.
Very happy for Chita Rivera's nomination, Carolee Carmello's nomination, and The Woman in White for best score!!
Sorry that Cherry Jones was snubbed.
All of the best actress in a play nominees are from closed shows!! I hope Cynthia Nixon wins.
