Indeed! I really like the nominations this year compared to the previous years (not saying they weren't good) But this year has some good competition!!! It will be an excited 60th Tonys!!! I can't wait!!! I am going to get tickets to Wedding Singer ASAP!

Now, if only we could get a Host.

"Anyone else surprised by Lych's nomination?"
Not really, he was the best part of that show in my opinion. I actually liked him a lot more than I thought I would. He really seems to put everything he has into the role and I'm happy for his nomination.

And hang on, when did you win the discus?

I'm sure the countless numbers of Mano fangirls on here are all pissing their pants with joy at this very moment. But what will their reaction be when he loses? ::evil laugh::

Some suprises.
Overall, I'm pleased.
I don't know what I'm going to do with Patti and Chita in the same category. Yikes. Tie, anyone?
So glad Mano got his nomination. Megan Lawrence, yes!
Little dissapointed Sweeney didn't get more noms. Suprised they didn't get a lighting nomination.
Overall, this will be a very interesting show.

Got to say that I'm a bit surprised that the Awake and Sing! boys got 2 featured noms while Dominic Cooper was excluded.

Despite Lestat's apparent sucking, is it surprising that Lynch got the nod over Panaro?

I find it odd, yet not surprising, that a one-trick pony piece of garbage like The Wedding Singer received anything. Stephen Lynch really deserved a Tony nomination for doing an Adam Sandler impression?

PJ, this fanboy has faith! If the Tonys continue the trend, I'd say Mano has a good chance to win. Look what happened before:
Dan Fogler for Spelling Bee
Michael Cerveris for Assassins
Liev Shreiber for Glengarry Glen Ross
The Tonys tend to award someone from an ensemble-driven show, usually awarding that ensemble through the person nominated. And now that Mano's nominated, people will pay more attention to him on revisits. So I wouldn't count Mano out of the race just yet!

I'll be happy if Mano wins and will secretly root for him.
But Jim Dale!

Personally, I hope either Jim or Christian take that Tony.

It was a slow year! A large amount of the nominees are filler.

Totally agree "sayit" that Panaro absolutely deserved a nomination over Lynch (saw both shows)

And that's fair for you to think that, PJ. Let us Mano fans have our personal opinions as well.

I'm kind of bothered by Chita's nomination. She played herself, how much of a "performance" could that have been (having not seen the show yet, I intend on catching the tour)?
I wish the Sweeney ladies had taken some of the featured actress nominations.

Honestly, I'm expecting Jim Dale to win (and he was fantastic in Threepenny, so it will be well deserved). But you never know what's going to happen.
Honestly, though, let's stop with the fangirl accusations. It's tired, trite, and beneath us. Manoel Felciano delivers a beautiful performance in Sweeney Todd, and is very deserving of recognition.

Sweeney definitely deserved a lighting nom.

Before awards season began, I thought Mano would be a frontrunner in his catagory, but the way things have gone, I'd be really shocked if he won now.
I think Jim Dale's got it in the bag.

Stephen Lynch really deserved a Tony nomination for doing an Adam Sandler impression?
The only time I ever felt like Stephen was impersonation Adam Sandler at any time when I saw the show was when he was doing "Somebody Kill Me" - other than that, I felt his take on the role was different from Adam's and I enjoyed it much more than I enjoyed Adam in the film. :)
