LMAO at this. I mean I LMAO at Broadway.com a lot, but especially their "awards."

The best part about their awards is when the winner is not there and Jackie Hoffman gets to accept for them. They should just let her accept for all the winners it would be a much better show.

So these are as unfounded as, what, the People's Choice Awards? The MTV Awards? Nick Awards (Is that the one with slime?)

Oy.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

These are worse than the MTV awards, at least those have some relevance to a certain demographic. I'd say they're about on par with the People's Choice Awards. IF I remember correctly last year, the Broadway.com awards showered Newsies with awards, if that's any indication.

You mean Newsies that is now considered for their long running category? Bwahahaha.

^Didn't even notice that!! I nominate Annie for that category, it's been running since the fall.

I don't even know where to begin with the ridiculousness of these categories.

What is a "Favorite Diva Performance" and why is Alan Cumming nominated? Somehow that offends me.

It would be interesting to see if Annie and a dog wins over ScarJo and Benjamin Walker.

Apparently HARDBODY doesn't exist in their universe since it's nominated for nothing. These awards clearly represent the season as a whole and are very respected.

The demographic that swarms the site to vote for these awards are fangirls and boys.

I'm not surprised at all that HARDBODY didn't get recognized. The awards are ridiculous, you just have to laugh at them. I mean, the same thing happens every year when BWW opens the polls for their audience "end of the year" poll. Ridiculous performances and shows win. NEWSIES swept in like every single category last year for the BWW poll if I remember correctly. The fangirls come out in full force for this sh*t.

Remember when Godspell won best revival both here and on that other site?

I hope Alan Cumming wins best diva performance for playing a crazy person in a mental hospital acting out Macbeth. Nothing screams diva like deconstructed Shakespeare. I know, of all the things to get hung up on, Alan Cumming being nominated for the diva category is small potatoes.

I hope Lupone wins for The Anarchist AND they get her to record one of those terrible acceptance videos. Then we'll see how great a dramatic actress she is. Can she get through the acceptance speech for that play without breaking?

I´m excited for that award and hope that Willemijn will win in the category "favourite replacement".

I tried to vote only in those categories where I'm in a position to actually have an opinion, but votes in ALL categories are required. What silliness.

How they reach the nominations is even more ridiculous- you MUST choose five options for every category. I'd be lucky to be able to see five shows a year.

Especially when in some categories there were 7 options and all you could do was eliminate 2.

Agree with you -- the 5-option minimum was totally ridic.

He is there...under breakout role, I think. I don't think the bway.com folks are the Chaplin kind of people. C'mon...they said Godspell wasl the best revival last year.
