Does anyone know if the new Into the Woods tour that was based on the Roundabout revival is Non-Equity? I've done some research and on the Actor's Equity website, it clearly lists it under that of an Equity production, but then I looked at announced dates to find that it's doing a lot of 1-2 night engagements and that it's being produced by NETworks. Is it a good guess that Actor's Equity made a mistake? Because 1-2 night engagements plus NETworks usually equates to a Non-Equity tour.
It's definitely Equity. There are a bunch of different tiered contracts. But the pay is about normal nowadays for a tour. It's not a production contract.
Just came back from a trip to find the 2016/2017 Broadway season in my mailbox from the State Theater in New Brunswick NJ-An hour from Penn Station on NJ Transit if anyone on here has friends in these tours and wants to see the shows. Tickets on Sale this Friday, Groupon deals may show up for some of these closer to the dates. Even though the state is primarily a bus and truck venue, it only books Broadway tours Friday-Sunday.
Dirty Dancing: November 4-6, 2016-5 performances
Elf (Jovie Tour): December 2-4, 2016-5 performances
Pippin: March 24-25, 2017-3 performances
Rent 20th Anniversary Tour: May 5-6, 2017-3 performances
Hedwig and the Angry Inch: May 19-21, 2017-5 performances FYI: This is a surprising addition, the State rarely books Equity Tours, and when they do, it usually a show in its 4th or 5th year on the road. This is probably the closest Hedwig will play to NYC. No idea of who will be in the show at this point on the tour, but still one to keep on the calendar.
