While I don't think he is undeserving, I think many other nominees were more deserving, and he probably won more because he created Hamilton.

Lin is excellent in Hamilton- he may not get the attention as a performer that some of the other cast members do, but he's every bit as great. Plus, he wrote the damn thing, so I think it's pretty well-deserved.

Though I am admittedly a bit surprised that Lin won, it doesn't take away from the fact that he completely deserves it. I couldn't be happier for him.
