Any thoughts on who this year's Distinguished Performance will go to?
Considering there isn't one clear Broadway performance as the frontrunner as there has been in years past, my money is on Phylicia Rashad for Head of Passes. If not her, though, I wouldn't be surprised if it went to Cynthia Errivo or Laura Benanti. If Jessica Lange gets a positive response, it could be her too.

Laura Benanti is a good call.

DL's Distinguished Performance is my favorite award of the whole season. I'd be happy for any of the women you listed. Do you definitely think it'll be a woman who wins? Or could Leslie sneak in or someone else?
Leslie Odom Jr. was eligible last year when Hamilton was Off-Broadway (unless you meant Leslie Margherita?). Lin and Daveed were nominated but nobody else from Hamilton.

All of the men I can think of who would be frontrunners are either in shows that have closed, making them a hard sell (e.g. Mark Strong) or have already won the award (e.g. Frank Langella). I don't think it HAS to be a woman, but in this particular year it just feels as though there are more standout female performances than male ones. Danny Burstein COULD win, but I think that's less likely than the people I mentioned.
Sorry to contradict my own post, but I was just looking back through past nominees, and noticed that Steven Boyer was nominated for Hand to God the last 2 years, as was Michael Cerveris for Fun Home, and I'm guessing many others throughout Drama League history. I guess the eligibility rules for the other awards don't apply to the Drama League. Which means we could very well see people from Hamilton nominated, and probably Jennifer Simmard too.

I believe the only disqualification for the Drama League Nomination would be being a past recipient of the honor.
Kad is correct. You can only receive the Distinguished Performance Award once in your career. Performers who have previously won the award can subsequently be cited for excellence but are not eligible to win.
I imagine Cynthia Erivo has a very strong chance of winning. This is an award that is hard to predict because they don't always follow trends.

Right. That wasn't the part I was confused about. I was talking about whether or not a performer can be nominated more than once for the SAME performance, which they apparently can. Kad was responding to clarify that the ONLY disqualification is having won before.
Looking through past years, it also appears that shows that are still in previews by the cut-off date are also eligible.
My money is on Cynthia Erivo or Laura Benanti. Though I'd be very happy with a Leslie Odom Jr. win. Whether it's one pf those three or someone else, like Mark Strong, I know they'll make a perfect choice. The Drama League Awards are probably my favorite awards. I love the list of nominees they come up with each year and I can't think of a winner that hasn't been absolutely deserving.

Wow...weird list for them. They left out a lot of good people.

How can Hamilton be nominated again this season?

I'm shocked that Leslie Odom Jr wasn't on the list!

They don't have the rules like the OCC and Drama Desk that it can't be nominated two years in a row. I can't believe Leslie and Renee were left off.
Wasn't Hamilton already nominated for Outstanding Production of a Broadway or Off-Broadway Musical and Daveed and Lin nominated for Distinguished Performance last year??
I predict this will likely be between:
Danny Burstein
Jessica Lange
and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Danny and Jessica are giving great performances atop very distinguished careers and Lin-Manuel is simply winning everything in sight for HAMILTON, so why not here as well?
