3 Tall Women Extending??

Does anyone think there’s a slight chance of 3TW extending past 6/24, especially if/when Glenda Jackson wins the Tony Award? The play’s grosses are doing remarkably well, and I can’t believe Once summer tourism starts, that 3TW wouldn’t do well until at least Labor Day (i.e. “A Doll’s House”...). I don’t know if Roseanne taping would prevent Laurie Metcalf from extending past the 24th... but no show has been announced yet to open up immediately after 3TW yet... thoughts?

THE WAVERLY GALLERY, starring Elaine May, Lucas Hedges, and Michael Cera, is starting previews in September at the same theatre ahead of an October 25th opening.

If it's going to extend, only by a few weeks...

Hopefully for a few more weeks. Can't imagine anything more. Maybe to July 15?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

WAVERLY and THREE TALL have the same producer. So if Glenda Jackson & co did want to extend, it would probably be doable.

Man I wish I was seeing Three Tall Women tonight instead of Sunday. The energy in the theater will be very strange. I hope Laurie gets a huge standing ovation for putting up with that <<edited by BWW staff for personal attack>>.

No one forced Laurie Metcalf to do the Roseanne reboot.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

No one forced Laurie Metcalf to do the Roseanne reboot.

No one turns down TV money, which is insane. Laurie Metcalf's income from her TV work (she appears regularly as Jim Parsons/Sheldon's mom on CBS' THE BIG BANG THEORY) allows her the financial freedom to do theater every chance she can, regardless of its budget. She was scheduled to begin production on Season 2 of the ROSEANNE reboot this July. Now that the series is cancelled, this opens the window of 3 TALL WOMEN possibly extending.

I love Metcalf, but she signed on to this reboot knowing exactly what kind of person Roseanne Barr is, and what kind of beliefs she has. It's Metcalf's right to accept television money, and I can criticize who she chooses to work with.

I saw Barr in Vegas a few years ago and she was a Liberal. Face it the woman will say whatever it takes to stir up trouble, only it's not the 80's anymore and now idiots have to pay for being idiots.
