It's nice to see how many celebrities have seen and were moved by this truly amazing & groundbreaking show.
40 Celebrities Humble Bragging About Seeing 'Hamilton'

I'm gonna write a follow-up article entitled "1 Women's Magazine That Doesn't Understand What 'Humblebrag' Means"
It seems like celebs are the only people seeing the damn show. It's all getting a bit much. Plus you're all aware the "cancellation" tickets are the tickets passed on by celebs and big wigs who say "oh I'd rather go next week."
It's bull---- I just saw Sarah Jessica Parker on TV saying "I'd seen the show 4 times already but I wanted to take a friend so we went". I was like, screw you honey.
For all the posturing, it's really shaped up to be a show for the 1%
If you think Sarah Jessica Parker's number is bad, Rosie O'Donnell said in February during her appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden that she had seen it 12 times.
Mariska Hargitay has seen it 16 times. Unbelievable. https://www.instagram.com/p/BFVNGjhEK0l/?taken-by=therealmariskahargitay

Who really cares how many celebrities see the show and how many times they see it???
sixTEEN times, holy crap Mariska. I wondered why she recorded the audiobook but now I get it.

Glad I saw it last Labor Day weekend and ticket was only $89, granted we were in the mezzanine but still it is better than what people are paying now.

This. That's what you get when you're famous. I'm not sure what all the feigned surprise is about. This has been true for EVERY social event known to mankind.
The only one who is close to being a humble bragger is Mariska.
I'm lmfao at Kim K equating the sisters to her- they are all less than Peggys.
Celebrities should like use their influence and connections to get tickets for people who can't afford to go.
There are people in NY who can get comp house seats for Hamilton with less than a week's notice and there are some people who will never be able to afford half the price of a standard ticket.
Why do rich people have access to comps and not the people who can't actually afford to buy tickets.

To be clear, house seats aren't comped, especially for a show like this.
Who said they are comps?

I was talking to someone at a show the other night and they told me some industry person who was a patron at his restaurant got him comp house seats to Hamilton.

Lol.
Brainn- that doesn't mean that ALL the famous folks are going in for free.

Yeah but it's still a matter of access. I really take issue with how unaccessible this show is and the producers while publicly putting on a front as if they are trying to make the show more accessible through the lottos and these school matinees are still helping these "exclusive" people gain access to this show over 10 times while a normal person on the street who enters the lotto every single day may never get to see it
Get a credit card and go. I'm so tired of the complaints, if you really want to go, you can go. It would cost you a lot but you can go. If you're not willing to pay, then you have to wait.
Celebrities attending the show provide immeasurable value. Seeing all these people there is why the fervor has been insane and it will help the show once the cast starts leaving.

Seriously? Really? First of all I do not think celebrities going to show is helping the popularity I think the celebs are going because of the hype. I personally have already seen the show and am not complaining about myself not being able to see it but others who are less fortunate than I am. I have a personal philosophy that art should be assessable to everyone. Having to pay over $1,000 on credit (and that's per ticket) is not accessible. It's not a matter of weather people are "willing" to pay. A majority of people in this country are completely unable to pay and it is a bit privileged of you to assume that anyone who really wants to will be able to afford that.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? One perpetuates the other, I guess.
^^^ I agree they are going because it's great but it does help stoke the hype. Nearly every article name drops who has gone so it's mutually beneficial.
I don't want to get into a back and forth but certain art will always be accessible, it doesn't mean all art is, do you feel like everyone should get a free trip to Europe to see the Sistine chapel, etc? I don't see how this is any different.
Well, one is a masterpiece and the other is...Hamilton.

How is this an apt comparison, I'm not saying hamilton producers should fly everyone out to New York to see the show. Tickets to the Vatican Museum on the other hand are easily accessible and relatively inexpensive. In fact there is at least one day a month where entrance is free to everyone.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: I've gone 2x and have tickets for next month. I haven't paid anything close to a grand a ticket. In fact, if I add up all 7 of my tickets it doesn't equal a thousand bucks.
Seeing a hot Broadway show isn't a right. PERIOD. Heck, seeing ANY Broadway show isn't a right. No one is obligated to make sure all the little people have their every dream fulfilled. They ARE making some tickets available....they don't have to do anything.
They should use their influence to get someone else into HAMILTON? Surely, if they want to help individuals, they'll put their energy and fame to MUCH better use.
BTW....I fully intend to get additional tickets, if I can, when they are released on Sunday.

Exactly. I have also not paid more than $177 for a ticket. That is a fairly standard Broadway price. If people aren't willing to practice patience, that's not the fault of the producers.
