It seems like they just had the Kennedy Center Honors. I guess the timing of everything will be off for a while yet.
Very happy for Bette Midler. So many deserving people haven't made the Ken Cen Honors yet.

I believe they always announce honorees in mid-summer, then they hold the event in November, and televise it the last week of December.
What a great group of artists to celebrate. I am happy for each and every one, but from a personal point of view, I am thrilled with the choice of Gus Diaz. I had the honor of working with him (decades ago) he is a gifted artist and an amazing human being.

Over-the-moon happy for Bette.
Her response, as quoted in the linked article, is classy, humble and brilliantly said.
Congratulations to all the honorees. I look forward to watching this every December. It has often aired in that week between Christmas and New Year’s and is a nice post-Christmas pick-me-up.
The recent one with Debbie Allen, Dick Van Dyke, Garth Brooks, etc. was for last year but wasn't held until this year(43rd Honorees).
Great selection, I'm particularly thrilled for Joni Mitchell.

Again, no posthumous award for Carol Channing.

Kelli O'Hara just sang a gorgeous Wind Beneath my Wings to honor Bette Midler, a lovely follow-up to some of her Hello Dolly cast members singing Friends to open her tribute.
I'm on the Left Coast, so this won't be broadcast here for a couple of more hours. I did catch a glimpse of Bette, however, and she looks wonderful. Glad she is being honored.
I didn’t realize tonight was the night. Anyone know how I can watch later? Paramount +? I just let me Hulu account expire so hope it’s not that.
For my taste, this has been one of the best I remember.

I am in total agreement. I wonder why Gavin wasn’t there?

The Kennedy Center Honors does not award posthumously, though it has honored bands with a member that had previously passed away (e.g., the Eagles (Glen Frey) and Earth Wind & Fire (Maurice White)).
I saw Hello Dolly and did not realize I had seen Beanie Feldstein. I think that was her Broadway debut.

Yes it should be on Paramount+ or On Demand if you have cable

Thanks! Watching now. Almost finished. Stevie honoring Barry is EVERYTHING!!!
Finally got back from a family holiday and this was my first pick from the DVR queue and it really was one of the best KCH productions I have seen. Great to see Joni and Bette get honored. Also surprised and happy to see Kate Baldwin perform “Friends” with Beanie and Taylor. Kelli was radiant. But Billy Porter stole the show and took us to church.

I liked moments of Porter's performance but as with much if what he's done lately, a lot of it came across to me as overwrought and self-aggrandizing.
