The trick musical is having its world premiere at Out Front Theater Company in Atlanta, GA in May.
Book and lyrics by Jason Schafer (who wrote the original movie screenplay). Music by David Gursky.

I'm curious if it will be set in 1999 NYC or if it'll be set to today. I wish it well and would definitely watch it if it comes off-Bway in NYC.
From the website it says music is by David Gursky. It'll be interesting if this musical will still have the song "Enter You" sung by Tori Spelling and written by David Friedman (youtube clip below)

Andrew Cuomo is one of the "Sponsors"? It can't be THAT Andrew Cuomo...

What about "Come te Gusta Mi Pinga?"
I'd be very disappointed if Enter You was not included in the show even though there is a score by David Gursky. It's part of the charm of the movie, and I think it would be a mistake not to have it.
There's absolutely no way that it wouldn't be included...

Anyone know what ever happened to the sequel?

If it doesn't include "Enter You," I'm not interested. Hard to imagine a good musical coming out of this. It's the perfect movie. I don't need to see other actors in these roles. Kind of like the Tootsie musical. I missed Teri Garr, Jessica Lange, Bill Murray, etc.
Trick the Musical has started performances in Atlanta. Is anyone here attending?

“Bacon’s mix of musical theater/pop works well for a story like this, with some genuinely great stand-out songs in the bunch, and the cast sells this quirky queer love story with genuine heart and humor”

Another very positive review:

"The songs in Trick are very strong material, particularly in the first act, with Lee’s performance of “Love Song for My Future Boyfriend” being particularly touching. But, y’all, Denise’s absolutely stunning delivery of a masterpiece ballad called “Cash-Only Sing-Along Piano Bar,” detailing the rise and fall of her relationship and the need for safe spaces for queer people, caused a standing ovation in the middle of the opening performance. Seriously, this song is worth the ticket price all by itself.
It’s a delight to have good musicals like this one ... originate in Atlanta. Trick is very satisfying."
The production photos are promising. I appreciate that it isn’t copying the look of the film.

I hope the reception is good enough for an off-Broadway run. I would love to see it.
