It just sounds like a breakdown of communication
$76.50 - "$50 off the top" = $26.50.
I hate that box offices can be so rude and short-fused when dealing with people picking up tickets but then have absolutely no information when it comes to knowing their Rush/Lotto/Student Rush policies.
dramadude (and anyone else who is rushing for tonight's show) - Where are your seats located?
Seat location doesn't really matter to me, but I am curious because of the speculation on this thread.
I am confused about this whole thing, but hopefully they'll decide on a set policy soon.

Since when can students afford more expensive tickets than tourists?
I would think you could. Aren't you always asking about what new electronic equipment you should buy?
(And I don't mean any offense by that. I just don't understand why shows should have rushes for students only, or why people feel entitled to them)

or SOME of the students who are attending school via mommy and daddy's money and not paying any real bills of their own.
I for one was very greatful in college because I did have to work and pay bills and buy books and am now paying back my own student loans.
I think general rush is much better than student rush.

Phyllis, when was the last time you heard me ask about electronics?
I don't think we really feel *entitled* to getting student rush tickets. The reason people are outraged is because we thought they were offering tickets for 76.50 and calling THOSE student rush tickets, which was absurd, but has been cleared up.

I think general rush is much better than student rush.
Totally agree with that. I was in NYC for a week and used GR over SR because in the end they resulted in better seats for the productions I was attending.
I went to the box office about 30 minutes ago and was told that student rush is $26.50 for side orchestra seats. They're sold when the box office opens, based on availability.
I bought our tickets around 2:30pm this afternoon ($26.50 each, cash only). We are sitting orchestra right row A, seats 10 and 12 against the wall. Row BB is the only row in front of us with three seats. The man at the box office said the worst seats in the house are 5%-10% partial view, so we'll see.
I just got mine also and they apologized for the confusion this morning.
I'm excited about this tonight!
i just got my 2 tickets at 4pm - Row B - seats 12 and 14 (right side)
yay
If you guys can, come post your review after the show tonight. I am dying to hear how the show is. I am optimistic it will be fabulous with such a great cast!!!!! But can't wait to hear what you guys thought.
After reading the posts here saying they did have tickets, I ran back to the theater to see if there were any left.
The same man who told me there wasn't an official rush policy sold me a ticket and apologized profusely, saying a final decision wasn't made until shortly after I'd stopped by this morning.
I'm excited to see the show and will report back tonight!
Ugh, right after I buy my tickets for the discounted $76.50 price, they release cheap rush tickets. Oh well, at least I am in the center orchestra. And I am guaranteed a seat, instead of showing up for rush and finding a long line there.
By the way, is Row BB the first or second row? I saw AA on some of the charts, but sometimes they take away that first row...thanks. Also, if someone could comment on stage height, if the stage would be too high if you sat in the first couple of rows.

So excited! Going to rush for Saturday night. Hopefully the seats aren't too partial view. Let us know how the view is and have a great time at the show.
Millie_Dillmount ~ I believe AA is the front row in the center and BB is the front row on the sides.
Thanks!
No problem! :) That's how it was for Rent anyway.

Parks, maybe I'm confusing you with someone else. There's someone on here in college who asked which iphone to get, which laptop to get, and which HDTV to get. I was thinking that was you.
How early would someone have to get to the box office to get tickets? I am thinking of getting tickets to the evening show next Saturday. Since it's still in previews I'd almost be guaranteed a ticket, right? Also: do you think they'd accept a high school ID?
I'd love to hear some reviews from tonight!

Man, I hate partial view seats. I feel like you're just left staring at the set while all the action is going on elsewhere. At least that's how the seats for "39 Steps" were, so don't ever buy those. Anyways, how were your views? I can't decide if I should just get TKTS seats, or attempt the student rush. Anyone ever gone to the TKTS in Brooklyn. Do they offer a better selection of seats, or is it about the same?
How partial "partial view" seats are really depends on the show and the theater. In a lot of cases, they're completely fine.
Apparently these partial view seats suck big time.

Yeah, I think I'll just splurge with TKTS and get their cheapest ticket. I mean, it seems like a big, flashy type show, so I think it will be money well spent. And the kind of show I'd like to be able to see all of. I sat partial view for RENT, and I hated it.

oh I'm undecided whether to rush or get discount. Do you think I'd get a better seat phoning up the theatre or online?
