Jennifer Lawrence!!! - was amazing in Silver Lining
Cate Blanchett - Loved her in Blue Jasmine
Imelda Staunton
Meryl Streep - not sure if she would be good or bad.
Theatre is a different beast from Movies
but really new talent that can really hold their own in a show

Imelda should definitely do some Broadway !!
I doubt Cate will ever do Broadway, she seems against the idea or would have done it already. and Meryl also has said she won't do Broadway again.
Jennifer Lawrence doesn't have any training on stage but maybe when she's older like in her 30s she could come do a Broadway play, I doubt that would interest her though.

These are actresses I've seen on national tours that I really hope make it to Broadway:
Sarah Schenkkan (saw her in Wicked as Glinda)
Kerissa Arrington (saw her in Sister Act as Deloris)
Cassie Okenka (saw her in Wicked as Glinda)
Emily Kay Shrader (saw her in Sister Act as Mary Robert)

HorseTears, Debra Winger has already come to Broadway, and the less said about her, the better.
Jennifer Lawrence could never maintain a character for eight performances a week, and it doesn't sound like she has the discipline for a rehearsal process.

Posted: 11/19/14 at 11:42amI have found it very curious Sissy Spacek has never done Broadway, I mean she is a singer so she should be comfortable on stage ( like she did so much in Coal Miner's Daughter ) it must not appeal to her.

Some of the actresses mentioned, especially the non-Americans, have said that they are not interested in doing something on Broadway because of the time commitment and not wanting to be away from their homes for that long.

I love the suggestion of Laura Dern. She's such a commanding actress, and I'd love to see her live.
And I'll second Kate Winslet if just so she can have a chance to go for the EGOT.
In terms of actresses I want to see BACK on Broadway, I realize she hasn't been gone that long, but I'd LOVE to see Viola Davis tread the boards again.

"I think Jennifer Lawrence would be great as Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."
I think so too, opposite Andrew Garfield as Brick.
