This paper always claims to have an exclusive insight into celebrity casting but it rarely ever comes to fruition.
This is the same people who reported that Nicole Scherzinger was going to play Mary in a new JCS movie plus she's going to play Elpahab in the Wicked movie. They've also said that Jade Thirwall was the top choice to play Jasmine in the upcoming Aladdin movie.
They always pluck random celebrities and attach them to projects that they've probably never had any involvement in.

Doubt it happens. Adele did suffer vocal damage during the end of her Australian/Asia tour and had to cancel the remainder.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

i thought she only cancelled the last two shows? but word is she might never tour again which is sad (thank god i saw her twice on her tour last year)

My thoughts exactly. The 1968 Oliver! was perfect in a way no other late 1960s musical film adaption was. The only reason to remake it I can think of is to make it darker - but that puts it at odds with the score. And for my money Oliver Reed's menacing presence as Bill Sykes was all the darkness required.

Well, for one thing, they plan to update the score. I can't say I'm a big fan of the idea -- I saw a stage production here in D.C. with a lot of hip-hop elements added to the score, and I didn't think the change did much for it. But I'm willing to wait and see how it turns out.

Absolutely agree. This does not need a remake. The only improvement to be had might, MIGHT, be with a different child actor in the titular role but every other thing about this movie is iconic. Ron Moody as Fagin. C'mon! If it ain't broke. . .

That 'update' of the score worked so well with the recent ANNIE remake.

How about instead of spending $80 million remaking Oliver! we take that money and buy food and clothing for all the poor kids and orphans in London? Or just use it for, you know, just about anything else more productive.
