Alice Ripley

Posted: 8/8/09 at 1:38amWait, your defense is that Alice encourages the whole "children" thing? Isn't most of this thread basically a confirmation that she's not the captain of team sanity either?

Posted: 8/8/09 at 1:40amMaybe, but I'm not so sure she isn't crazy. But I do remember she made some status at some point saying how amused she was by people requesting to be her children and to keep it up...something like that. So I do think to some point she entertains her fan's 'insanity'. Because she is a little bat**** herself.

Kelly, I am impressed that you didn't rip my head off for calling you-know-who "the cougar," so I take back what I said.
I kind of what want to be Alice's child now, though.

I think you have to be a little bats**t to be in, or pursue a career in show-business. What sane being would do that to him/herself?

We may never be certain if Ripley is truly crazy, but one thing is.
her "dedicated" face book "friends" are nuts.
I truly think, no I KNOW, they believe shes your friend.
I swear once I saw a wall post on her facebook that said something along the lines of "It was so cool meeting you yesterday at the stage door last night, we should hang out sometime :)"

So crazy bonds with crazy and breeds more crazy. Color me many shades of shocked and surprised.

Posted: 8/8/09 at 3:44amThat's my point...all I'm saying is, it's not JUST the fans. She's totally having fun with it.

Well, I guess it's always better to laugh than cry, right? Or in her case, better to laugh than resort to recreational drugs and booze to help erode the pain, and the rest of her upper register.

I always thought it was obvious that Alice Ripley is a cyborg sent back from 2029 to kill John Connor.
Hopefully this picture posts right.

Yes, my disdain for insanity comes from my severe need for a hug. Oh please, won't someone understand my pain and offer me a warm embrace.

Posted: 8/8/09 at 6:19pm"Disdain for insanity"? You actually have disdain for people suffering from mental illness?
#115re: Alice Ripley
Posted: 8/8/09 at 6:23pmReginald, serious mental illness? Absolutely not. Do I think that Alice Ripley's facebook children are actually mentally ill? I would assume most of them are not and would hope that it was true of all of them. Do I think maybe they're not floating on planet "sane and rational" with the rest of us? Absolutely. Do I have a little disdain for that, when there are so many more important things going on in this world to care about and to spend time on than spending hours at a stagedoor? Yeah, I do. I hope those people spend as much time watching CNN as they do begging Alice Ripley for her autograph, that's all I hope.

Just checking. You'd seemed so eager to throw around the word "crazy."
You do know it's possible to have negative obsession too, though, right?

Many of Alice's facebook friends are crazy. She knows it, we know it & she likes to have fun with it. There is obviously 2 different Alices.

Even if this is fake,
Alice Ripley is 46 years old. I don't understand why a 46 year old woman would need to be using her free time to create bizarre personalities on the internet. If this persona is fake, it is still strange.

#121re: Alice Ripley
Posted: 8/8/09 at 6:47pmI doubt she "needs" to. But what should she be doing instead? Also, just out of curiosity, what's the cut-off age for doing this sort of thing?

'What is the cut-off age for doing this sort of thing'
The same age where one is supposed to be a grown adult. I just think it's very immature. Unless she is a comedian whose career is partially based around doing these things, it is weird.

There is no exact number that defines a true adult, IMO. By the age of 46, if you haven't hit the 'adult-point'...there is a problem.
