Alice Ripley won a tony for "best leading actress".....aka she knows how to "act". Her 'crazy' is also an act. So yes she is a little eccentric, what artists aren't eccentric. I do not believe she is 'crazy' or she wouldn't be able to commit so fully to a role and give such an amazing performance. In person, at least the two times I met her, she was actually very softspoken and serene. I am assuming this is probably the way she lives the majority of her life in order to balance out the emotional roller coaster she must go through on stage 8 times a week.
We needed you to step in ans speak for everyone, once again.

Yeah when I talked about fully commiting to the role I was referring more to the differences I noticed between her on-stage persona and her demeanor when speaking with her after the show. I am absolutely not claiming to know her personally or know her well. I am simply commenting on the fact that she was incredibly low key and soft spoken when I talked to her at the stage door, not the over-the-top eccentric person that she seems to be in videos, etc.
I swore to GOD I wouldn't respond to this thread, but honestly... I can't stomach another post. Those who know Alice know she isn't insane. Brilliant? Yes. Hilarious? Sure. Out of her mind? No more than the rest of you...
Grow a sense of humor and shut the F up. This thread is becoming offensive to those who love and care about her.
As it's been said before... if you don't like it - DON'T WATCH IT.
On a side note... what does her having a husband have anything to do with anything said in this thread? Gonna start bashing his sanity for being married to her for years? 'Cause he happens to be one of the chillest dudes.
I also find it quite rich that a 14 year old know-it-all has the credentials and worldly knowledge to diagnose the woman with mental disorders. So, in the time you took getting a degree in voice and education so you could teach Alice how to sing "properly", you also managed to get a PhD in psychology so you could tell the rest of us what is wrong with her? GOD, you're a genius. Why are you wasting your time on a broadway message board and not saving the world?
I just now realized, reading ^ that "LN" is the abbreviation for Lithium and feel like a total idiot. I guess she is just being "clever"...I guess.
EDIT: Never mind, it's LI. For some reason I thought I remembered that from high school chemistry...it being one of those strange abbreviations that makes no sense.

Ok donks, I always go on and read these things because they are entertaining, and I like to see what you all think of my aunt, keeps things in perspective, per se. But I guess I couldn't resist...I'm not that big of a man..i guess.
I think I can claim a certain level of expertise, since she's my aunt. I mean my actual aunt, as in my father is her brother. Not this facebook relative crap. I've known her as Aunt Alice, the fun and artsy aunt.
She is not crazy. Fun? yes. Outside the box? definately. Crazy? not in the slightest. She is very level-headed behind closed doors. She just loves having fun, and fun for her falls into lots of different categories. I guess it comes from my giant, ridiculous family (she is one of 11 for those that are unfamiliar). We're all a bit ridiculous at times (some more than others). She is definately a bit of a drama queen (she gets it from her mom..) but, frankly, there is no way she would be where she is now if she isn't.
So, to those that are commenting with absolutely NO knowledge of her (even those that have "met" her at the stage door) check yourselves. It's speaks a lot more about you that you express these sorts of opinions about things you have NO knowledge of.
Also, to these crazy fanatics, you creep me out. QUIT friending me on facebook. I am not your connection to broadway, I DON'T KNOW YOU! Back up a bit, she's human. Though your posts on her facebook wall are what get me through my boring days at work
Juliet LaFleur: Most people in the field of clinical psychology, who would be qualified in assessment, refuse to diagnose others without having even met them or seeing them as clients. So even if they were qualified, it is still questionable in terms of ethics, and the fact remains that information consisting of stage door appearances and Facebook postings is not enough for a real diagnosis.
And if Alice Ripley were to ever see a therapist and receive a diagnosis that information would remain entirely confidential, as it should.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
Alice Ripley's husband was in the "Everyday Rapture" band. I'm not quite sure what instrument he played, though.
