Well, I'd agree about that. I just disagree that posting silly tweets or what have you means you're not an adult.
I actually think creating characters is pretty much what being an actor is about. If this is one way she chooses to do it, I don't have a problem with it.

Point taken.
ETA: IMO it is slightly immature to do these at her age...and it's even more immature when you're representing a show.

"Has anyone talked to her at the stage door though? I think we could probably gather in only a couple of minutes if she is really crazy or not."
I had no idea it was that easy to diagnose insanity. You should publish that in JAMA- I'm sure all psychiatrists would love to hear this news!
This thread is a laugh riot-reading all the judgments of Alice Ripley's state of mind, by all the experts-thank you all!

I guess maybe if you gave her the MMPI at the stage door, haha.
Btw, insanity's a legal term that gives no clinical insight. The word you're probably looking for is psychotic.

It's certainly the word I've been looking for on this thread.

It seems like she makes these videos when she gets home after the show. Doesn't she have something else she could be doing...
I'm certainly not going to make any judgments about her mental health, but these videos are certainly unusual. It's fine to say that she's in on it and it's a joke but they don't even make sense!

I think she is & I think the letter Alice got is real. Also, the whole "project project" thing sounds like sounds like the person wrote "project project" by mistake to which Alice found funny. Also, if you watch the first question before she relizes that it's taping she is not 'Alice' the character.

The time she filmed them is in the video title.
This video is pretty interesting.

Haha dear god...I clicked on that link and actually burst out laughing and said "what the FU*K".
And I love how she's perplexed by the way her mouth moves, not her headdress. Because clearly, that's normal.

How the hell are those videos immature? Did I miss the rule where people who are over 40 aren't allowed to enjoy themselves? She's not being offensive, OR even over the top. Just because she's weird (to say the least) doesn't mean she needs to be locked up. Believe me, there are PLENTY of weirdos out there...Alice wouldn't even make the books

Idk, it seems to me like people are taking this too seriously.
It's her free time. She can do whatever she wants, and whether anyone think it's immature, or stupid, or whatever, is pretty irrelevant.
Who knows her reasons for doing it. Maybe to blow off steam, maybe just a silly way to have fun after doing such a depressing show eight times a week, maybe other reasons.
Whatever her reasons, if you want to watch them and be entertained, then do so. If they freak you out, don't watch them.
It might seem unusual to you, but we all know that Alice isn't known for thinking inside the box, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

Posted: 8/11/09 at 1:04amThe whole LN thing is actually pretty funny. Eh, so what if Alice is a hot box of crazy, it's obviously working for her, so who cares.

Posted: 8/11/09 at 11:31amI'm shocked there are still people who don't understand there is nothing real or sincere about any of the videos. It's so obvious it's an act, and a damn good one at that. They're entertaining and amusing. But, I guess it's a lot more fun for people on here to believe she's really nuts.
