"Allegiance" In Cinemas This September?

In the thread for the Broadway HD streaming of "She Loves Me," somebody mentioned that "Allegiance" may be presented in cinemas this September. Does anybody have additional information about that? I can't find anything further about it online.

hi there

that was me in the other thread.

The info on the cinema showing of Allegience twas information I got verbally from someone closely involved with the production.

no date as been set yet. If I remember right, the announcement will come out end of this month or july sometime

I've seen this production three times and would love to revisit! By the way, do you know if they will show it in European movie theaters? A friend of mine missed this production but she wants to see it badly. She's now studying abroad in London.

Did I miss the announcement that it was even filmed? Wouldn't that have been mentioned at some point?

I'm pretty sure it was announced somewhere. I saw it at TOFT along with Miss Saigon when I was writing a paper about Lea Salonga.

I don't remember any announcement and I can't find anything online.

And again, TOFT recordings have not, are not and will not ever be the same thing as a professionally filmed video for release.

this has all the markings of a rumor based on some passing hope that will never come to fruition. When shows are closing, and especially when they are closing unceremoniously, people say a lot of things to make everybody feel loved. And then they move on. It's a variation on the old "closing to tour" canard.

This was not filmed while on Broadway. We would know. What producer in their right mind would remount a critical and financial flop of a show to film it and release it when there is no demand? Are the producers of Disaster looking for more senseless money burning opportunities or something? Come on..

Bingo! No way this was filmed for commercial release. Would say the same to those waiting for a Broadway Cast Album of "American Psycho"...after the show lost it's entire $8.8 million investment. No way...but it would've been nice.

A simple search on Instagram reveals that someone attended a private screening of it in Hawaii this week.

Whether or not the public will have a chance to see it though? Fingers crossed!

The uncanny trend of trashing the show here just baffles me.

Well that quote just baffles me.

Who trashed the show in this thread? The show was not filmed for public distribution. A bootleg? Sure. How is it trashing the show to say some rumor is manifestly not true?

Ehhh changing my mind about my response.

I hope Hogan and Michelle and Sondheimite are proven wrong!

It's trashing a show now to factually say it was a critical and commercial flop?
Yikes!

The screening of Allegience is happening in theatres this fall

the source for this comes straaight from the production company and is golden

professionally shot

Its not always about the money, even on broadway

its about legacy and preserving the performances and the message for future generations to remember and never let this happen again to american citizens,,,,

I will have a good chuckle when im watching this in the theatre in a few months and remembering the thread skeptics

you can love, like, be neutral to, or be negative about the show.

Whats important is, its one more broadway show that had the foresight to caption and preserve its original production and make it available more broadly, so others can watch and draw their own conclusions about the show and the story....

I found Allegiance a powerful & moving story, which exposed the racism & bigotry of the time. With Trump and his followers currently in the news, some might think it's still present. I much preferred this show, to the over hyped twaddle that is Hamilton.

Maybe not, but calling the money producers use to make a Broadway show available to people who cannot afford a $100+ ticket "senseless" definitely is.

Have you actually met a Trump supporter? I support Trump, why? Trump's platofrm helps worknig class people, as someone who earns undrr $50K in NYC, Trumps proposal for no federal income tax for people in my bracket is very appealing. Trump has displayed no bigotry towards LGBT people and dislikes illegals and terrorists. Most Trump people are the people left wingers claim to support, working class . The left has done nothing for me, but suck every penny I make away from my paychecks. I'm tired of it. I'm not rich enough to support left phonies. I loved Alligence by the way. Tired of people like you stereotyping whoTrtump voters are. If the left were on my side, I would vote for a liberal, all Cuomo and Obama have done is suck away my paycheck, and you know what, I'm tired of it. Trump's tax plan benefits me, I do not want to work for nothing any longeI"m probably more tolerant and understanding than people like you who try to stereotype everyone., you are way more bigoted than most Trump voters, you stereotype and accuse people without knowing them , I'm tired of it. Want to help me pay my tax bill, loving, liberal, progressive phony? Put your money where your mouth is. Help the poor , I'll send you my email. Let me see some loving liberal progressive help. I'm a minority, I'm a Jewish Puerto Rican, a super minority, and left handed............................. Super minority. Lets see some compassion. Ready to help a minority, who is broke as a joke??? Loving, liberal, compassion.... hahahaha

and yes, they filmed Allegiance with a profesional digital 4 camera shoot. I was there. They did it over 2 nights, and they also filmed the show for LCT library. Good, show lots of heart.
