Not referencing old screen name. New Su say that comment about effeminate men in play. Comments like that okay to new screen name, but new screen name also say others bitter and deluded if you criticize bad show.
I'm just plain ol' Anne Baxter.
"There is also a way to be unnecessarily offensive and a d*ck for absolutely no reason."
Oh the irony!

Right? It's like she doesn't read the things she writes!
Totally on board for a JC Applause.
As far as the "retard" comment, has anyone seen Kimball in that show?
He absolutely seems "special".
Thank god Montego was amazing.

A very eloquent and beautifully worded message and one that is much needed on the board. We have all seen shows that we love (and others did not) and shows that we did not enjoy (that others have adored). Everyone has different tastes and should be allowed to comment accordingly whether they loved or hated the show. But there is a huge difference between offering your opinion/review/personal experience of the show and lobbing non-stop vicious grenades repeatedly denigrating a show in umpteen different threads and rooting for its demise. I see an awful lot of the latter here, especially with certain posters doing "countdowns" until a show hopefully closes or reporting with barely contained zeal that a show has closed as if their own personal inner nirvana hinged on a show's demise. Even someone as jaded as myself can find the frequency and glee exhibited in this outlook more than a tad disheartening.
Great Post Christoph
Bway real estate is a hot topic on this board, as it should be. So counting down to a show's closure isn't personal, it's part of the biz.
In fact, I'm already wondering what show is going to take Dr. Z's place.
Those discussions aren't going to stop. Nor should they.

Are there any examples of people eon this board not being allowed to comment accordingly whether they loved or hated a show?
Other than Roxy's hysterical, fictional "you will be called a murderer if you like a show the elites don't like" BS?
That is so tired. I like some Wildhorn shows (at least 2 were very enjoyable).
No one's ever eviscerated me because of it.
When someone doesn't like something Roxy did, he calls them elitists.
So all those people who don't know dick about Bway, but saw that musical by those South Park guys are "elitists" in Roxy's world.
SMDH
And regarding all those people who are out of work when a show closes, what all those people who will gain work on the next show that comes in.
Will no one think of the children?

"Great post. Some posters on here go way too far with their animosity about performers and shows on here. The only thing most people gain on an anonymous message board is a delusion of power. So much snark and negativity gets said on this board that they wouldn't dare say to someone's face in real life. The comments about Darren Criss starting in Hedwig and Josh Kaufman starting Pippin were particularly nasty."
I have never posted anything here that I have not said in public or to a producer or people involved with a show. Josh Kaufman was so wrong for Pippin. If I see something I don't like I speak up. If I see something I like I speak up. I am paying good money to see a show, I have expectations. If they are not met I speak up. It's my opinion... Don't like it, fine. I have, on many occasions gone over to the creatives sitting in the back during previews and asked WTF were you thinking? What are they going to do ban me from theater. Better it's said during previews and they have time to fix it than have it go on and only to have the critics later trash it. Think I am mean for doing this? Some times the truth hurts.

Broadway performers are exempt from hurt! It's an Equity stipulation!
I don't think this board is any different from other forums on various topics I've seen and/or participated in. They're all the same. A slice of life. All kinds of people. All kinds of nasty and nice. That's life. Nothing shocking about this place.
"Retard and retarded are kiiiinda in the same family. Sorry JC don't hate me! I had to do it, you made it too easy."
You shouldn't apologize for pointing and calling out one of the dumbest statements ever on BWW No, seriously bro, it's the same thing.
The Party of Sh*theads (5 people on here) will always try to defend their horrifying, racist, sexist, offensive statements. But, if you offend them, they go postal. It's deeply, deeply, hilarious and shows their lack of character, class, and self esteem.
Thanks for all the amazing help Rob, you have pretty much always agreed when the P.O.S. crosses lines!
And thanks Lizzie, exactly my point.

I am going to assume you won't even address the actual substance of what I am about to write but... What about the two or three offensive statements you've made on here? Your comment from several months ago about effeminate men and WEST SIDE STORY, while unfairly generalizing an entire sexuality, comes to mind.

"Retard and retarded are kiiiinda in the same family"
In a way they are, brdwydreamer but in another way, they're very different. If you call someone a "retard" it is generally meant as an insult, to hurt and not PC.
Someone who is retarded is a serious matter. Nothing funny about it. It is a condition that physicians use and are not breaking any PC rules by discussing a medical condition. I will never apologize if I use the word retarded as "characterized by a slowness or limitation in intellectual understanding and awareness, emotional development, academic progress, etc."
Not the same.
"Also -
I never used the word "retard", so let's not try to rewrite anything here. K? "
"Without that "nails on a chalkboard" performance by the retarded Matthew Mcconaughey, the character of Huey is actually a very good one!"
ROFL! HAHAHAHAHA. EL OH EL. All those things. What a moron. Are you kidding? Putting ED at the end of a word simply makes it PAST TENSE or can be used as an ADJECTIVE. The word is still there, Einstein. Bravo though for the lies that are literally written for everyone to see.
^ swoosh! right over your head.
p.s. It's Ms. Einstein to you!
7 pages and no response from the OP to the lovefest[almost] that they created.
Are they waiting for the magic million?
What is even happening here? I asked you a question, hey wait I asked you a-
I am surprised as well re the lack of response. Why bother taking the time to send it and than not see the responses? Maybe the OP did and saw some of them and said why bother.

Great post Sutton. Love your term for the gang of 5.
I just ignore them and life is so much easier. As soon as this thread started, the usual suspects chimed it. I can imagine their responses were anything but totally unsupportive
I guaranty in less than 2 minutes, one of them will post garbage about me and I could care less. Keep up the good work Sutton
