Posted: 10/4/11 at 12:41pmI was hoping it would take the Neil Simon or Imperial. Hopefully this means Follies will be extending.

I'd really hoped it would take the Imperial. The Palace is really a barn and very difficult to fill.
I wonder if Nice Work if You Can Get It will take the Imperial.

Posted: 10/4/11 at 1:01pmThey should change the title to "Eva's At The Palace!" Has quite a nice ring to it.
#4And one more scoop - EVITA is now likely to move to....
Posted: 10/4/11 at 1:26pmThe Palace is my least favorite theatre. I HATE it! I wish it would go to the Imperial.

I thought that was were it was always going.
It just seems natural for such a popular musical.

Pop Aria,
Evita was originally scheduled to go to the Marquis after Follies was done with its original run. Howver, since Follies is doing better then originally thought, it's looking likely that it is going to be around a bit longer.
I am not happy with The Palace either. I hate the location and hate how it's such a barn of a theatre as well. I also hate the fact that unless you know what's playing there, you can't tell the Palace marquee from the same four billboards surrounding the theatre.

Posted: 10/4/11 at 1:52pmWinston is right. It's easy to say you'll meet someone at that theater so they can buy tickets from you but when ypu get there and wait for them for an hour and they don't show, it's hard to know exactly where you are because of stuff like that.

This news is not surprising. I always thought the show was destined for the Palace. They had always said that the production would land at a Nederlander house, and so the Imperial was never in the running, as it is a Shubert house.

Posted: 10/4/11 at 3:09pmSo this means Priscilla is closing soon?
#11And one more scoop - EVITA is now likely to move to....
Posted: 10/4/11 at 3:46pmThe Palace is just such a big theatre and hard to fill. It seems like they would go for something a bit smaller. I guess this is a revival of a big named show. West Side Story did pretty well at the Palace.
#12And one more scoop - EVITA is now likely to move to....
Posted: 10/4/11 at 4:01pmI just hope I'm able to afford better seats than what I had for West Side Story; the acoustics were awful and I lost a lot of the lyrics.

Posted: 10/4/11 at 4:04pmI also hate that if you are in row 2 of the balcony people lean over. Luckily it wasn't a problem when I saw Priscilla because the balcony was pretty empty so I moved to have more room and a better view. The balcony doesn't have the greatest sight lines either.

I've been cheering for EVITA to storm the Palace for weeks...
and yet I heard just the opposite a few hours ago, the FOLLIES extension is still very much uncertain.

Posted: 10/4/11 at 6:12pmJesus Christ Superstar has the Neil Simon, so that leaves the Palace, Imperial, or Marquis. Looks like it's gonna be at the Palace.

So,
Follies to extend at Marquis?
Jesus Christ Superstar to take The Neil Simon.
EVITA to take the Palace?

Hmm, but there's no obvious way for those two shows to get those theatres...
It still begs the question, who wants The Imperial? "One Man Two Guvnors"?
Where do we think "End of the Rainbow" will end up?
