I know this subject has been discussed in the past, but what are the chances of her coming back at some point to Broadway?
I know she has done work around the city in various clubs, etc. so she's still in the business. And her voice, as recognizable and seemingly strong as ever.
With Annie, Starlight Express, and State Fair among other appearances on Broadway, it would be interesting to see if she ever comes back. And see what project it would be.

At first glance I thought this was going to be about Andrea Martin; that’s how likely I think it is that Andrea McArdle will be back on Broadway.

I don't think it's for lack of trying. Unfortunately, I don't think she's had a career within the last decade that would make her particularly picky with projects.

I guess we should be happy in this age of ridiculously vague -- and way overused -- abbreviations that the thread title wasn't just "AM"?

It's definitely possible, but she's unfortunately not enough of a draw for a starring role at this point. I could see her doing a stint as Morrible or something at that level.

There always has to be one meow or hiss from some unhappy or catty person on here. Relax. Life isn’t that bad.
To those who answered the question, thanks. I was just curious. You see her pop up around NYC periodically but wondered if anyone had heard of her actively seeking or showing interest in roles on Broadway. She’s getting older but there are still older roles available in various shows, revivals, many of them requiring solid voices.
Thanks for the input.

McArdle was originally supposed to be headlining next month (September 2024) with Lorna Luft in a concert show titled TWO OF A KIND: From Hollywood to Broadway, but she’s since been replaced by Julie Benko. No info on why McArdle bowed out of this.
