Actually interested to hear the "2014 versions" on the soundtrack. I wonder if Sia changed the lyrics to the other songs as much as she did to 'Smile'.
Wow, I forgot about this one. I too would love to hear the new versions, but didn't want to pre-order it and go in blind. I'll be stalking the iTunes previews no doubt tomorrow to get an idea if it's worth purchasing (or else I'll just wait till I see the movie).

I'll probably just listen to it on Spotify (if they reelase it on there). I'm pretty sure Sia's Smile was more of a promo single than a representation of the lyric changes in the entire film. I could be wrong though. -shrugs- And honestly, I'm excited to hear the score. I don't think it sounds to dreadful for being a modern adaptation...I was expecting A LOT worse.
Ooh, they probably will have it on Spotify! I actually am quite excited to hear it too, for better or for worse.
I hate the fact that the title is exactly like the original Annie's soundtrack. Now on iTunes I'm gonna have to change it. They both say 'Annie (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)' So annoying. [I have hundreds of albums and have them all organized in a certain way]
Just throw an exclamation point in one of them!
Or add a "The"

DisneyBroadway...I have no clue...I did a random search for the new recording and that was the first thing that came up on my search.
Just look at the song list...classic... and the cover art...

I actually just saw the physical CD at Target.
Roxy - how do you NOT get that the link provided is NOT for the soon to be released film??

You realizing typing that took 3X longer than changing it in iTunes?
The ANNIE 2014 preview tracks have come out on Amazon and after listening to them, it's only boosted my fears of Cameron's vocals.... But at least Wallis, Foxx and Byrne (from what little I've heard) are good enough for this version.
Haha, Jovie, I didn't say that in a mean way. I think it's hilarious
I like the new versions of the Maybe, Easy Street, Tomorrow, and Hard Knock Life, but ugh: The auto tune is terrible. And Cameron Diaz.

I bought the album and Cameron sounds fine on her 2 songs - Little Girls and Easy Street. the lyrics are different. fun and campy vibe. all the songs have an auto-tuned effect but that was to be expected.
I still don't understand why this movie is happening.
The soundtrack sounds fine for what they are trying to do, but what they're trying to do is atrocious.
I'd hardly call what they're trying to do "atrocious" though I do agree it's kindof a pointless venture and they may have done an atrocious job (can't really say seeing that it's not been released yet).

Opinions on Sia's rework of "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile?" I kind of really like it! The trailer I saw that highlighted this song rather than "Tomorrow" or any of the others was the one that seemed to make me the most excited for the movie (and I never thought that was possible...).
Yeah, it's basically a completely different song, but to me it also is an example of how a rework can actually produce some good things. Opinions?
Wow that poor little girl has been auto-tuned within an inch of her life! Usually the excessive auto-tuning of pop music doesn't bother me but here it really seems like a lot of the voices have that counterfeit ring.
The most successful tracks I would say are the Sia ones. The newly reworked "Never Fully Dressed" is actually pretty great and I like her rendition of "Opportunity" better than the Wallis one.
Overall a lot of the new/reworked stuff has a boring homogenized sound without a ton of variety.

I'm only a few songs in, but initial reactions:
1) I actually love a lot of the arrangements.
2) LOVED Tomorrow
3) I didn't know if I would be able to make it all the way through "I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here." I much prefer the original arrangement of the song.
4) The City's Yours - meh.
5) "Little Girls" I hope it's better on screen.
Wow, this sounds awful. The auto-tuning is insane.
Everybody on it sounds very robotic! Oy.
They rolled out 50 new red Annie Citi Bikes that will tool around Manhattan until December 29th.

I saw one on the way to work today. It took every fiber of my being not to hurl on one of them.
