Hey guys! So I'm currently in NY and already saw Fun Home and Color Purple, which were both stunning. I have so many shows I would love to see but only have room for maybe  4 more. These are what I'm interested in:

She Loves Me, Les Miz (how's the current cast, though?) The Humans, Fiddler, Curious Incident (again how's the cast), Eclipsed, Shuffle Along, and Crucible.

Shuffle Along, She Loves Me, The Humans & The Crucible. Curious Incident is great but I don't know how the current cast is.

What kind of shows do you like? What do you look for in a show? Romance? Darkness? Good writing?   Out of your options and comparing with what I liked in Fun Home/Color Purple, i'd watch (in order) - The Humans, She Loves me, Shuffle Along / Les Miz (Jean ValJean is fantastic, that's all you'll remember at the end of the day anyway), Eclipsed, Crucible, then Curious Incident.

While last 2 have gotten rave reviews, I'm keeping them low because they are not musicals. The Humans is still great because of the content. The chemistry between the cast is way better than Fun Home and it's really clever at times. Shuffle Along would typically be on top - but it's in previews, and I personally like to watch finished products if I'm travelling and not likely to come back for a while. But Audra's in it right now. If you think you'll be back in 2-3 months - might be worth waiting.

I can't recommend She Loves Me highly enough. I enjoyed the current production of Les Miz and liked the latest incarnation of Fiddler even more, but neither comes close to the work that is being done at Studio 54. It's an absolutely joyous 2.5 hours.

It's such a great production of a wonderful show.

Have seen CURIOUS INCIDENT numerous times with original and replacement cast. The show is still wonderful with Tyler Lea in the lead, 6 performances a week. On Wed. evenings and Sat. mats the role is played by Benjamin Wheelwright, who is wonderful too.

And let me add THE HUMANS.

Saw the last revival Of She Loves Me prior to this one. An under appreciated show. You could not go wrong seeing it as it is a fun show no matter who is in it.

Do NOT miss the opportunity to see SHE LOVES ME, especially with this cast. It reaffirmed for me why I love theater so much to begin with.

If you can try to catch SHUFFLE ALONG. Again - - - great cast/choreographer/director - - - it's shaping up to be a winner IMO.

I would definitely recommend She Loves Me. Current cast is perfection.

If I were choosing, I would do Fiddler (Burstein and Kantor in particular are doing something special), Shuffle Along (cast is amazing), and The Humans (probably the play of the season - great directing, great cast).

Tyler Lea was the first (and so far only) Christopher I've ever seen in Curious Incident, but I cannot recommend him highly enough.

She Loves Me was absolutely beautiful, but I don't know how much of a factor Laura Benanti is for you in wanting to see it. She just tweeted yesterday that she will be out for a few days as she's still battling Bronchitis. Just so you know. I think it would be great regardless though, if you don't have a chance to see it another time later in the run.

I've seen Curious Incident and thought the cast was fantastic. I do believe the cast is not that crucial a factor for this show, and it's also going out on tour. Maybe you can catch it there, and see other play in NY instead that aren't? Doubt Eclipsed and Humans will go out on the road. I haven't seen either though, so I can't recommend.

Personally didn't love Fiddler, but many people had only good things to say about it.

I don't know if you need to see this production of Les Miz if you already know the show. If you've never seen it on stage, it's a must-see though!

This is just my opinion but even though I didn't enjoy She Loves Me quite as much as some other posters, I think it's really charming and worth throwing in with the heavier options you're considering. I found The Humans dull. I would bet on Shuffle Along with its amazing cast. And if you're looking for something with buzz, my sense is that Eclipsed might be the better option over The Crucible.

She Loves Me - I haven't seen it (already have tix) but it sounds amazing

Les Miserables - I really like this production and I think the cast now is even better than when they started in 2014

Curious Incident - I saw it with Tyler Lea (he's still on) and thought the cast was great but it's more the material than the cast

Yes, don't leave NYC without seeing She Loves Me.  Hopefully Benanti will be back soon because I'm going for a second time tomorrow.  And opening night is Thursday.

While I thought Laura Benanti was cast perfectly and she does her best to make She Loves Me fun and contemporary, I found the show a little too cutesy and old fashioned.

I only saw the original cast of Curious Incident but it's absolutely one of my favorite shows on right now, it's so moving. I recommend it to everyone.

Me too! I saw it last Tuesday... I would love to see her again but I am always curious about understudies as well. Isn't this the time that reviewers see the show? Right before it opens?

I would go with Shuffle Along, even though I'm seeing it tomorrow. It should be excellent.

I know it wasn't on your lost, but Blackbird was so incredible. I definitely likes it more than The Humans.

I am going to see Eclipsed tonight, so I can tell you later on what I thought of it.

Missing The Humans would be like missing the original production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf if you had the opportunity: moronic.

If you are interested in seeing Laura Benanti,  she will be out of tonight's show and tomorrow's matinee. She's probably trying to recuperate for the opening,  but she's been battling bronchitis for 3 weeks.

The Humans was very disappointing and bland. Saw Eclipsed tonight, and it really was a great show. Would definitely recommend it over Humans.

I would definitely recommend Curious Incident. It is a wonderful play and I thought the cast, especially Tyler Lea, was fantastic! I recently saw Fiddler and loved the production. Great music and cast.

After reading through the thread, I am convinced I need to see She Loves Me!
