Carlos, that production was multi-ethnic. After directing about 50 plays and musicals, that experience taught me it was time to let others do the work.

Dear God, no! Leave this musical in the vault. I've always been somewhat of a fan of the score, but the City Center production a few summers back was by far the worst "professional" production I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through.

I want it for selfish reasons, but I have to say that I don't think that it would have longevity. They would need an all-star cast.
I wish that Adrienne Warren would have been able to go on as Dorothy when she understudied Ashanti. That may have made the show a more pleasant experience.

I would love to see a faithful revival of this show..PERIOD!!! The problem with this show is people try to "update" the show, but they need to leave it the way it is, but add the orchestrations that Quincy Jones did for the movie. I still listen to both recording of The Wiz and there is no doubt in my mind that if you add Quincy orchestrations to the Broadway production of that show it would be one of the most magical evenings in theatre.
I saw the 1997 Tour of this show and it was pretty damn good, but I think this show is going to have to go balls to wall splash with the music, cosumes, and sets for it to be a true hit.
