Ha sorry to whip to up in a frenzy for no reason. All three are left in the show.
What I meant is that for the opening Young Shrek sees Young Fiona and walks on the turntable and that stuff instead of just standing there like he did before and saw the person on stilts, etc.
And for Fiona's rescue, it was just shorted and re-blocked than the way I've seen it youtube.
Again, this may be old news. theres barely ANY footage from the previews on youtube. only pre-b'way
Yeah I thought "I Think I got Ya Beat" was cute too

Posted: 12/4/08 at 12:40amOh, phew! haha. I sadly didn't see Big Bright when I saw it, so I don't know if that was changed (I missed the first half hour because of the stupid bus ... but we won't get into that.) It doesn't sound like they changed hardly anything. I think that was how I saw Fiona's rescue too. So I wonder why they closed yesterday? Maybe they were just tighting it up or something? Strange. I can't think of anything else that I thought or heard they were gonna change. They still have the new finale song This Is Our Story? They must have put that in the day after I saw the show, I saw it on the 25th.

Posted: 12/4/08 at 12:43amYeah the finale is still there. I think they closed for more lighting/technical reasons then for actual blocking or re-staging. But yeah, awesome show!

Posted: 12/4/08 at 12:57ami wish they would fix his entrance... i mean its a great idea and it would work if it didnt look so fake.. i dunno him coming out of the outhouse is just not as exciting as it should be. because its like the outhouse opens instead of him forcing it open, you know?

"Adult Shrek entering from the outhouse isn't new,"
The outhouse was originally how it was in Seattle, but Shrek's entrance was changed earlier in previews. The outhouse has now been put back into the show.
"Morning Person" is such a random number and has nothing to do with the plot. While I like the song itself, I found both the Seattle AND Broadway versions to be very underwhelming/disappointing. The choreography was just so by-the-books. Sutton didn't get much of a chance to show off her dancing skills.

I do agree with that. I was kinda disappointed in the lack of tapping, but I do like the way they have it now instead of how they had it in Seattle with her dancing in front of the curtain. I still think it's a cute number, I love the bird and deer part. But I do wish it was more dancy. Ah, well. It's still cute for the kids.

Well sounds like the dragon is still lame.
Hope the creative team is ready for some harsh reviews.

How's the "Who I'd Be" number now? I LOVE that song.
I saw a vid on the tube where it was just Shrek singing it with Fiona rising up at the end before the curtain falls as an ogre.

I get the feeling "Morning Person" was mainly added in because Sutton wanted to dance. It's a fun number, though, and I'm glad they're mainly keeping it the way it is.
I'm so glad they FINALLY fixed the Dragon. It's an important part of the plot, but very hard to represent live on stage. It seems like they've reached a happy medium between having Kecia, a disjointed dragon bust, and a bunch of chorus members in funny dresses and having all the chorus sing and a VERY disjointed Dragon head.
I liked the original finale, but it's nice to hear about this one, adding some "heart" to the show and summarizing the message that the Shrek series is all about.

Posted: 12/4/08 at 11:18amThe story is still sort of lame. I mean, it doesn't seem to have any sort of driving force. It's just a series of scenes and songs.

Contains spoilers -
I saw the preview show last week and I was pleasantly surprised the musical was quite good. Yes, the book is exactly like the film (sans Farquad's past, right?) but it was hilarious and the acting, top notch. Sieber's King Farquad stole the show. Funny, funny "short" costume and the walking and dancing, we were in tears from laughing. I particularly love the bubble bath scene and the tribute to Elphie at the end of Act 1. Tartaglia's Pinnochio was also brilliant. Foster and D'Arcy James were great as well. Great costumes, good flow, excellent choreography and great set design. Go see it!
Photo above features one of the patrons of the show. Not me.
