I am surprised I haven't seen any of these mentioned

Bette Midler
Christina Aguilera
Amy Lee
KD Lang
Leann Rimes
Annie Lenox
Gwen Stefani
Happy Rhodes
Monique Powell

Josh Groban
Marc Anthony
Seal
Michael Buble

Great voices are not necessary for Bway success.
Just recently we've seen Harvey Fierstein, Mathew Brodrick, David Hyde-Pierce all closer to Rex Harrison than Colm Wilkinson.

Aguilera as Evita or Elphaba would rock.

Madonna as Velma or Roxie would be hot.

Clarkson would make a good Elphaba as well.

But, actually, I would love to see all 3 of these ladies in new works.

And on a related note, I would kill to see Sandra Bernhard play Hedwig.

I would love to see Robbie Williams in something.

And before you say, "Who?!?!" Please research him...I think he's brilliant - writes (or co-writes) most of his material and his music can be funny, sentimental, etc.

I didn't describe him correctly, but his music speaks for himself...

Oooh I echo the Robbie Williams comment. He's brilliant.

I loathe Robbie Williams...so happy the Americans rejected him.

How 'bout Joan Jett as Miss Hannigan..."Easy Street! AAAA-OOW!!" Screaming "Kill! Kill! Kill!" while threatening the little ones with her guitar.

Did you know she's a big-time fan of Liza? True story.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Wasn't Robbie Williams approached to do Boy From Oz in London? I could be wrong, but i remember something about his american record company not liking how the gay thing would be used against him in this country. It's a shame, cuz he's really talented.

"Britney Spears as Helen Keller".

Hell, she's playing that part every day of her life.
