Audience Disturbance at Akimbo today?

It seems people may have been kicked out of Kimberly Akimbo today. Any info?

In my first post, I linked what I found, too...but the link (any info) is in the same font color - so you can't tell.

More context here.

Sounds like some commotion in the right orchestra before “Happy for Her” and a group was escorted out.

On the Broadway Reddit someone said a group of teen girls were talking during the show, a man behind them tapped one on the shoulder telling her to be quiet, then the girl’s father started screaming at the man behind to get his hands off her and stop touching her and it escalated from there.

Trash family starts fight, doesn’t even get kicked out.

I love that a drunk Father started a fight over anything but you really can't even tap someone on the shoulder these days. Like, let's not touch anyone who didn't ask for it. That can get you beaten or shot to death these days, apparently.

The drunk father and her daughter just have different cultural traditions that we must honor and respect, including body size-shaming, profanity and stopping the show. Sutton, isn’t that what you told everyone on the recent thread about bad theater behavior?

On a more serious note, while I have made pointed statements in a theater to try to shut people up, I have never touched anyone. An adult man touching a teenage girl, even if it was just a tap on the shoulder, has a decent chance of prompting a major response.

I completely agree with this statement. As an adult male, I would be annoyed if any stranger tapped me on the shoulder at a show that wasn't accidental. I also don't misbehave in a Theater, so I understand the frustration, but verbally say something or get an usher.

Haha.

I'm so just happy ushers are actually removing people who actively break the law in theaters now. Bravo guys!

According to people who were there who posted on Reddit, no one was actually kicked out. The guy who tapped the girl on the shoulder was moved somewhere else in the theater. The family and teens stayed where they were, in front right orchestra seats.

The usher told nearby people, ‘I could say it’s a part of the theater but it really shouldn’t be,’ per Reddit.
